How/where do you report website/shops/sellers of fakes/counterfeits?

Where and how do I report a shop for selling dozens of counterfeit bags? There's a consignment shop here that has fake bags on a shelf behind their counter for high prices. I told them that it was illegal to sell counterfeits and they basically just shrugged it off. They said they weren't "selling them as real purses," but there's no mention anywhere that the purses are fake, and they're high prices, too. They have a gross fake Vuitton Global Cabas for $150, fake Chanels for $100, etc. Some woman standing in line actually started arguing with me when I brought it up, saying it was "her shop, she could sell what she wants," and "only on eBay is it illegal."

Well, I know that's not true, as flea market vendors are occassionally shut down and fined for selling counterfeit items. So where would I go to bring this to someone's attention? I did take photos of the bags in the context of the shop.

I had this happen at the place I used to get my hair cut. I just wrote her a letter explaining the laws. My hair dresser told me that she was there when the owner read the letter. She got snippy but my hair lady told her my husband was a cop and she took all the fakes down! ROFL I loved it.

Good luck!!!

In the city where I live there was a shop that was selling really bad knockoffs for expensive prices and the shop was right across the street from the local police department. One of my friends that is a police officer said they don't mess with that stuff. The only way they would get involved is if the feds came in. The feds are the ones that want to get to the suppliers. So your local cops aren't really that worried about it! Its a shame, my friend and I went in there and the lady that was selling them was like oh yeah I go to shows and get these and my friend said no I don't think you get them from shows you get them from Canal St in NYC the lady didn't say anything!!

Even though this is a small shop, still report it to the website I posted. Another member reported the fact that a vendor was selling fakes on her universities property after the university refused to do anything about it. They did respond to her report.

Sometimes there is little that you can do as well. I have tried to report a flea market about an hour from my house and I never get any answers or information from the local police. It is almost like they would rather turn their heads than have to shut down the whole flea market..

You may remember a few of my posts from awhile back. I sell things for people on eBay, and they give me 10% of the amount it sells for. I was selling a purse for some one on eBay, and after posting it, I got bombarded with messages telling me (or asking if) it was fake. I believe some of the posts regarding my auction are on this link. I had owed this person some money because I had sold some thing for them in the past (less than $8). After I told them I wouldn't sell any thing for them again, they wanted this money back. I had refused to give it back to them becuase I had to pay some fees to refund the buyer. They've kept bugging me about it, and I'm not really tight on money so I don't care, so I'm just going to give it to them. What I would like to do is report them for trying to sell a counterfeit product. What would I do to report them? Here are some pictures of what they tried selling. Do you think this enough evidence to report them?

I think the police really could care less about one person trying to sell a counterfeit bag on Ebay or anywhere for that matter. If it were a "ring" of thieves that broke into houses in your area and then sold them on Ebay it would be one thing, but one person selling a bag. I think the time of the police is better spent chasing drunk drivers or finding child abusers...this a waste of your time also. Let it go and don't deal with the creeps again.

Hi all, I've come across a site selling fake Coach and Chanel bags. Anyone know where I can report them?

I messaged their web host and they didnt care. So Id like to report them somewhere else.
thanks for any advice.

You can contact Coach or Chanel - customer service and send them link. They will send it to their security dept. (Or something like that) Also there is a division of the FBI when you can report internet crime. I forgot the site's name but if you go to the FBI's website you'll be re-directed IC3?? I think. You can also contact the FTC and the BBB. Also on Harper's Bazaar mag online you can go to the shopping tab and there should be a "Fakes are Never in Fashion" section - there you can also report! Yes, I have reported websites before:tup:

So I was poking around online and came across a video made by this fool... That's right, he's hawking fake bags on youtube!! I noticed on his profile page that he's been a member since 9/07. How in the world has he been able to stick around for that long without getting caught? At least most of the comments show that the general opinion is that fakes are bad. I flagged it as spam, maybe if we all do the same we can call attention to this creep.

Here's the actual video:
