Is Blackrocks "richer" (more emollient) than other conditioners? I used the Saphir on my Sophia today and noticed a difference. It was only slightly on the dry side but a treatment with Saphir and it felt much nicer. It still seems a bit dry, so I'm wondering if it needs a little extra help.

Also, do you think using Blackrocks on a bag that has been treated with Apple Garde would be overkill or just good sense? I'm paranoid about my Chalk Snoopy Mini Surrey. In the summer I wear a lot of colored denim and I know from using a ton of Color Catchers in the laundry that the dye on those is very unstable. Snoopy's been treated with Apple Garde but I'm wondering if a coat of Blackrocks might also be wise.

I ran across this site that talked about caring for pebbled leather. They mention using a pig bristle brush to buff and get any errant conditioner out of the little valleys.

I use a brush when I condition; maybe that is why I never have problems with conditioner in the valleys of my pebbled leather.

Blackrocks is thicker and richer than other conditioners. Of all the conditioners I've used, it is the one that gives the most dramatic results. It generally improves the look of nearly every bag I've used it on, as long as it is used correctly and not slathered on. I would use it on a bag even if I had used Apple Garde, especially on a light color like Chalk. I figure it can't hurt.

Color catchers are great. I use them when washing new clothes, towels, etc.
the best way to stop color transfer from your jeans is vinegar in the wash.
Think Easter eggs. The vinegar helps set the dye. I keep a jug next to the washer and I rarely have a transfer problem.
Best of luck.

Great idea! I'm going to try that. We've got a big jug of vinegar that's used for cleaning. I love my turquoise jeans (so much so I have 2 pair in 2 different shades of turquoise) because they're so summer-y but they make laundry day a pain.

It sounds like - to compare the leather conditioners to hair conditioners - that most of the conditioners are the regular use ones, but that Blackrocks is for that special occasion deep-conditioning treatment. I think I'll get some and give the Chalk bag an extra bit of protection. Thanks!

1. I know there is a lot of leather & different textures going on with the Pinnacle Allie (posted my find in its own thread) but has anyone had any luck on cleaning these leathers?

I need to do some digging to find out what exactly I'm working with!

Hi everyone, I'm looking for opinions/advice from people who own/used to own waxed calfskin leather bags. I found some discussions here about them when a few models in that leather were released back in 2011-2012, but can't find anything recent. If you still own one, how is it holding up? Also, I was a bit confused about the cleaning methods, because some people were saying leather moisturizer was ok, and some that it can only be wiped. I have a wristlet in polished calfskin leather, and per its care card, leather cleaner/conditioner should be used on it. I was recently given a new waxed calfskin leather wristlet, and the surface looks very fragile and delicate. So what was your experience with this type of leather and which cleaning method worked best for you? Thank you!

As a separate question, does anyone know how to clean the striped interior (NOT Legacy) in vintage Coach wristlets and wallets? It can't be pulled out, so washing/spot cleaning wouldn't work. Can you wash the whole thing? In that case, what do you do? Thanks!
