Lucky you. That was such a gorgeous jacket. Fell in love with it on NAP then was able to see it in person. LOVE IT!

Yeah I understand about the frequent cleanings. What I would do is take it to a pro, ask if they can spot clean the areas only. That way the entire jacket won't get worked over. Also, I would probably get it cleaned once a year if necessary. Again, spot clean first.

Thanks for the comments and advice baglady. :D

It was love at first sight. I found it to be very versatile. Especially for California weather. It is great as not a too heavy top coat. I will take it to my cleaner this weekend.

I can imagine this jacket must have cost you an eye...so taking it to a pro would be the way to go if I were you. I wouldnt want to take any chances...it must be a beauty...

Haha, u r right tod, it is quite pricey. However i am a huge fan of chloe's RTW. Especially last year's blue theme. It was just breathtaking   She manipulated those blues sooo artifully that i had to buy a blue dress and skirt  Then this year's brown and white are also divine, which forced me to get the leather jacket and another top. I absolute adore her pieces. LOL

Its more likely to occur with new, darker wash jeans. Especially if they have the sticker that says to wash before wearing due to excess dye. However, I've had it happen on darker jeans that I have washed a few times before. For some dyes it takes a few washes to get rid of all the extra.

yeah my jeans were somewhat dark, and fairly unwashed..

update: so i've gotten some aussie baglovers together (like 14 ppl!!), and we're going to ship in Apple conditioner for everyone!

and apparently there's a lotion form of the applegarde spray.. we're going to try that too, cos we can't ship the garde spray (aerosol)

and ppl want to try the suede protector too... Any opinions on this?

Hi Holly! I'm so glad u were able to round up some good ol' Aussie gals for the Apple products! I saw your thread in the Oz forum too;-) What's "CP" that you mentioned there, btw?

Regarding the Apple Leather Protector (the one that's supposed to be the same as the Rain n Stain Repellent), I don't think it's in lotion form. The pamphlet I got didn't mention what form it's in but say that it's "in an environmentally friendly pump spray package". And the pic of it is a spritz spray bottle. So, I'm thinking it's prolly the same stuff as the RnS Repellent, only not pressurized.

Does anybody have a tan silverado? Ever tried cleaning it? I mostly use black tops and I think the color may have rubbed off onto the leather. :sad2: I have mostly dark colored bags and never had to deal with cleaning. Any suggestions? Thanks! :D

Ditto to what SS said! I think it's the same rain n stain in a nonpressurized bottle.

So glad you can get your hands on appleguard! It is the best product

I would suggest you bring this to a pro for cleaning? I once had color transfer on a Gucci bag and they cleaned it for me - free of charge. I wonder if the store you bought this from would do the same.

Hi guys. ok no soonder than i got my python bag that someone marked the side pocket with blue ink.

i dont have pics but its the side pocket where the button is to close it. its on that side and its like blue lines. as if someone walked by accidently how do i get it off? am sooo sad. pls help

Whatever you use, please be very careful! Use a very small amount of the product on a very inconspicuous part of the bag, first.

The number of times I've ended up making stains worse, instead of improving them!

I also believe snakeskin can be harder to clean than other leathers, as it's not uniform in texture.

If I were you, I would use a cotton bud and clean one scale at a time!
