does anyone know a good way to clean the handles on my chloe edith?(or any bag with short handles) they get really dark from oils from hands, looks kinda gross now:wtf:?
Try contacting Barbara at lovinmybags.com. She will let you know from your description just what needs to be done. They are the absolute BEST. She may recommend you try her products, or perhaps your bag needs her professional cleaning. I wouldn't trust anyone but her to work on any of my bags. Good luck:);)

I just dropped off my bag at the professional bag cleaner. Unfortunately he said the stain can't be cleaned off, the solution is to have the stain patch colored to the original camel color.. :sweatdrop: I sure hope he knows what he is doing :woohoo:

I will update you girls again. Thanks for the concern and support!

First of all, Thanks for saz123 and Lescoy for helping me to authenticate red Silverado on eday .
I got the bag today at my office - I was waiting for this bag for whole week - and I love love it!! I was thinking to buy a black Silverado, but I don't regret to buy red one at all!

But the small issue is that I can see the bag is used a bit - this is expected because it was not a new bag, so I understand and am ok -, so I can see black dirts all over the bag, especially the every edge of the bag and handles.
So, I want to clean it up to make it fresh, but I am worrying that I am gonna be ended up to ruin my bag by using wrong cleaner..

So, how do you girls clean your bag? Would you give me some advice how I can clean red Silverado?
TIA guys!! :smile1:

And another quick question... does Chloe come with any guarantee card or care card?

I would take it to a professional and reliable leather cleaner/restorer, personally, although, there are products that people use (you can do a search for those).

Yes, Chloes do come with either a tri-folded, or an unfolded, carecard (which sometimes comes in a matching, small, open-ended envelope); but often the stores forget to include them.

Until recently, the carecards were really of little use, though, other than another form of authentication material and to tell you that the bag was 'handmade and carefully done by masters artisans' (which they no longer seem to say, interestingly) and that 'Whatever imperfection you can find come from the main characteristics of the handmade and creative work.'.

In terms of care, they just said 'Take care of the product with tact. Any wash nor intensive rubbing must be avoided.'. :D

^ The quotes above were from the single, unfolded carecard.

The trifold ones said:

'Leather Chloe products are made from soft kid natural leather carefully selected. Markings and irregularities may be apparent even in the most luxuruious skins. These are natural characteristics of the animal and should not be considered imperfections.

An item of leather such as this can only improve with time, providing it is looked after. We therefore suggest you comply with the following recommendations:
-Avoid prolonged exposure to strong light, heat and damp and especially for suede leathers which natural characteristics can lead to discolouration and stains. Rubbing on garments could damage them.
- Avoid contact with oily substances, make-up and solvents.
-Regarding the baby lambskin articles, we recommend you waterproof them regularly.
- Regarding the varnished leather, avoid prolonged contact with other leather items, as the dye may migrate to the varnished leather and therefore cause damage.
- Clean with a light and natural wax.

After use, we also recommend stuffing your bag with tissue paper and storing it upright in its cover, away from light, damp and heat.

For any further needs, please do not hesitate to contact our store personal.'

HTH! :D

I have used lovinmybags.com twice now. I bought a tan travel sized paddy from '05 that had a TINY STRAY INK MARK!!! :crybaby: It was barely noticiable, but of course I found it! Horrors! Well, Barbara got the bag in prisitine, brand new condition! :woohoo:She took the ink mark out and redyed the area, and it looks like it came from the boutique now! They can match the paddys perfectly, like right from the Chloe factory! If you need just an overall cleaning, she can do that as well:) Just go to the web site and contact them, either by email or phone. Tell her what you need and she'll let you know what they can do for you. I think they are the best! I just bought an '05 medium craie that was in about A- condition, with normal "wear" on it, and she brought it up to A+++ condition, with an overall cleaning and restoration. The leather remains smooshy and the whole bag looks brand new:):yahoo:

Thanks chloehandbags for detailed information!
And thanks for beanie for information about lovinmybags!

I sent some questions to Barbara, and she recommended to use thier luxury cleanser for Silverado, and I am still thinking whether I need to clean it by myself or send it to Barbara for professional care because I cannot believe in myself that I can do a good job for my bag cleaning. :sweatdrop:

Thanks again guys!
