Thanks so much you all! I will check into those remedies!
It's so frustrating as I am normally sooooo careful with my pen, but we were rushing around and I think I just shoved it into my bag!

I did the same thing to the leather seats of my car- an Audi with gray leather seats. It's not exactly the same kind of leather but... I used a Magic Eraser- one of those you get in the kitchen cleaning section at the store. It took all the marks off and left the leather alone. I also used it to remove black stains from my DH's SUV with beige leather seats. It looked like someone's Tshirt had bled onto the seat. Yet, it took all of it off even though leather cleaner and alcohol did nothing. Plus I was worried alcohol might remove the color...this didn't.

I've never used it on a purse before, but if you had an old, cheap purse you could test it out first before using on the paddy

Let me tell you something, that Magic Eraser (preferrably the heavy duty line) is a flippen  miracle product!!!!!!!! I have never seen anything like it.:heart::heart::heart::heart:. I was dying some clothes and had brown stains on my white counters. That sponge lifted it up like.... well....an eraser:tup:

I found a tiny, stray pen mark on a '05 tan large paddy and freaked out because I had just bought it, and the seller clearly never noticed it. :crybaby:It was in wonderful condition except for that but I decided to send it to Barbara at lovingmybags.com and she is restoring it to pristine condition. I first tried some of the remedies mentioned, but nothing was going to make it perfect except Barbara! :yahoo:I should be getting the bag back shortly and will let you know how it looks. :smile1: She told me that paddingtons are especially receptive to color correction and refreshing, so it should be fine. I have been told that handbag leather reacts differently than furniture so be careful when testing out different methods of ink removal.

Oh wow, thanks Beanie.
OK I tried the alcohol today on a Q-tip. It took about half of the marks off, but now the leather looks subtly different in that spot- maybe duller.
I'd rather not have to send her away:crybaby: She's my favorite and most used!

Hey CBF, I am going to agree with beanie: send her to LMB

I have seen gals scrub pens marks that never ultimately come off, while the leather and dye around it is destroyed in the process :push: I have seen such bags sitting on Barbara's table. But the longer the pen mark sits in the leather, the more deeply ingrained it becomes in the grain.

Barbara says Chloes are very easy to work on too so chances of a full recovery are good

I usually just use a small, thin brush and matching acrylic paint. Works wonders, and noone ever knows.....Never used it on a Paddy before, but am certain it would work effectively on all leather!

I did! Barbara touched up the corners on my White Balenciaga Work and she did a fabulous job

She said Chloe's are much easier to work on than Bals too  I am sure she can bring good results.

Thanks,HMWE. I hate to send her away, but maybe I'll call them and ask how long the stay would have to be. Have you ever had them work on a white or blanc bag?

good advice girls. i too have a pen mark on the leather covering the lock of my paddy. i haven't touched it since i'm scared i would damage it. could i send in just the lock to have it cleaned?

Hi Girls,

I felt so upset today when I realise my beloved Chloe Paddington was stained with some oily, gravy stain. Apparently someone accidentally spilled some gravy on my bag while I was having my dinner in a restaurant. When I found out about stain, it was too late. The stain had already set in and formed a dark colour smudge on my bag. I tried water and soap but it's still there! HELP! what shld I do????? I feel like crying right now :crybaby:

I'm so sorry to hear that...Please wait for expert opinions, but I have seen some people post about Apple Care Leather Cleaner. Or perhaps consider getting it professionally cleaned....Any other options, ladies?

I've heard with oil stains on leather to put some cornstarch or powder on the stained area and then cover with some blotting paper and if possible put some weight on the blotting paper for a day. That should absorb some of the oil from the stain. Then try cleaning the leather with a leather cleaner like apple. Good luck, I hope it works!
