20 up to infinity? It's timeless and the design is in lately. The croc maybe a bit intimidating for the younger crowd, but I've seen some of them with it already so..

I've got this bag - and it is really nice and ageless in my book - if you want another option https://www.ferragamo.com/shop/us/en/women/handbags/sofia-649200--1

The Armani bag is timeless but reads a little older due to shape and shine. Since casual is such a look now, that bag is really formal for the typical casual looks that are current now. The same bag in another leather would give off a different impression.

50-70+
Definitely for more older women, not any younger than 29-30. I can't see a teen or young adult carry this bag. If my mom saw me with this bag she would nonstop complain how old it looks on me. And I actually look a lot younger than my age. So, definitely for much older women for sure. xD

Jade- I was just looking at the Sofia bag. Great minds....ha! But the "wings" were holding me back. Worried they will eventually date the bag?

The shine on the Armani bag concerned me too. But I just wasn't sure how to evaluate it bc I'm noticing more shiny croc bags popping up in designer lines this yr.
Like this Mulberry bag.

Anthrosphere- really appreciate your viewpoint. Plz forgive my mental hiccup but what does the 50-70+ reference? Your age group? The bag's age group? And are you commenting on the black or brown bag? Perhaps both! (plz don't be offended by me asking if the 50-70+ is your age span, it's mine!)

I think they are pretty subtle. Some of the other bags with "wings" look more obvious. Though at this point I think the wings are normal. It has been 10 years since the luggage tote came out!

I like that mulberry bag as well. I think the hardware - since it is more prominent - helps it read a little younger. And of course the color. Also there is more depth in the color which helps it look less formal. It ends up reading as a structured saddle bag.

This is only my opinion, just puttin' it out there as another possibility....Recognizing that everyone has their likes and preferences, but despite the expense and hype over movie stars and socialites who carry them, alligator and croc bags seem old and out-of-touch to me. Which is why I sold a Hermes croc Jige that I had been gifted. I know I was supposed to feel that it was quite the thing, but I just felt like an old lady. JMHO. :shrugs:

To me, over-the-top is not breezy, young or modern. Reptile bags of any sort feel aging and unattractive to me perhaps because of their association with cruelty. Anything that brings to mind Cruella DeVille with a cigarette holder and talon-like nails is a no-go for me, as I am no longer a bright young thing . Again, just one person's opinion, so please don't everyone get all fired-up. What feels modern to me especially over age 40 (30?) is laid-back luxe--choosing structured shapes in casual materials like vachetta (or other untreated/natural leathers), suede, or modern fabrics, or unstructured shapes like buckets and backpacks.

Anything that looks ultra-ultra or like it's trying too hard (I believe) is aging. Valextra's bright structured bags and backpacks for example, check the box for a luxurious look with off-hand hip, and would bring a "current" vibe to an outfit. LV's clean, modern Epi leather (maybe something from the men's line) or their classic canvas in a fun new shape, or an oversize clutch from Burberry or Bottega Venetta would do the same thing.

Very young- or very old!- to leave their bag unattended!

But seriously I think this Armani bag /model looks quite ageless, I'd even go as far as more young than old. While I personally don't like croc/exotics or their imitations, it doesn't necessarily make a croc bag look old to me.

This bag could belong to anyone from a teenager and upwards. It may be because the model makes me think of Mulberry. Mulberrys are pretty ageless in my opinion.

The second bag looks more "mature" to me though. But again it depends on your personal style.

ETA: Just had another look at the second bag, and no, it's not mature in a "matronly" way. If I've learned something on this forum it's that it's about your personal style and how and what you wear with a bag.
