How old must one be to wear this bag?

I have to agree with Hobbsy. Trends come and go. I really think it's the overall look that makes something dated.Sure! I love hunting bags. What are you looking for? Convertible satchel? Crossbody? Size? Material? Anything else? New only or is preloved and option. Anything you don't want?
Oh wow, i didn't expect this.
Well, let me see.
Convertible satchel is great, no crossbody, no "frame," no mini, macro or ho (have several hobos already). It's too big if it's large enough to use to purloin a country ham. Abt 14" wide max. At least 8" tall, 3-4" deep. EastWest beats NorthSouth orientation.
Skip boho (60s, been there, done that), messenger, saddle, backpack or briefcase looking. Prefer leather strap over chain, zipper over snap, gather or left open. Soft structure over puddling. Ban suede, saffiano, EPI and faux leather! (sorry Stella) Love box leather in black or rich deep brown. Nothing that looks like it's wearing a nose ring (Chloe, JW Anderson) or could scare young children (Fendi, Celine). No flowers, kitties, eyes, bows, fuzzy balls, cartoons, quotes or barn animals. Or Burberry plaid on the exterior.

Minimal metal as it scratches and silver reigns over bright gold. Brushed gold? One lined inner compartment versus multiple 'cause I love the ease of my size-adjustable purse organizer when switching bags. But I could concede if I loved the bag. Pre-loved in mint condition is fine.

Whew! I think I've covered everything. If you feel like running away I'll understand!

How about a preloved givenchy antigona?

Look at the mini and small options (the mini is not that small). A couple of examples from fashionphile:

You're right, the "small" isn't really small. I'm surprised. The condition is listed but the pics don't reveal the issues. At least I can't see them. The bag's leather looks gorgeous. Have you seen it IRL?

Oh geez. I skipped over to the Givenchy boards only to learn their one and only authenticator has taken leave. Darnit.

Oh no! Btw, it looks like some members there were able to get a new antigona with great discounts from boutiques or other sites, so maybe check those threads? It looks like you could also call the givenchy boutique at Woodbury common to ask for their stock as well. Just make sure you ask for the calfskin version since you like the box leather. It comes in other leather types as well.

I have seen these bags in person, they are gorgeous! It's one of my favorite black bags, so elegant!

All great ideas, thank you!

I have a few Giorgio Armani bags and love them. Have you looked at his other styles online? This bag is nice but I think there are other options that are nicer. But Armani doesn't do trendy and his bags are structured for the most part. One nice thing is you can only buy it in a GA boutique or online so they aren't all over the place. And his logo is usually very low key.

I have a medium and I love the bag. Don't laugh, but....it has the smoothest zipper I've ever zippered! It's like butter. You can catch small and mediums on sale for less than $2000, or right in that area.

For me it's all about how the bag is 'styled' with what the person is wearing. I never buy bags that I don't identify with or feel comfortable carrying. It has to fit in with my lifestyle and the clothes that I typically wear on the daily.
Of course there are always those "special occasion" bags and those are different entirely.

Alansgail, thank you for the tips. I do agree with you about a bag fitting in with my wardrobe. I've been trying to update it as well but still feel like "me." I've been doing a lot of ordering and returning online!

MKR, being from Minnesota, I love your avatar! I've always admired Armani for his classic clean lines, nothing faddish or crazy. While it's nice his bags are limited to boutiques or online, the resulting scarcity makes it difficult to know what they look like IRL. I've never seen actually seen one!

I agree and GA doesn't offer free shipping or I'd say order it online and return it if you don't like it. Or go to Italy and you can find it in a lot more places! Good luck!
