how old is too old...

The teenagers in my neighborhood dress up really cool. They look good and always say thankyou for the large bar candy I save just for them. They are having fun so it is no big deal. I think they just get a kick of walking around in their costumes and they are nice to the little kids and it's really fun here on Halloween.

I think I went trick-or-treating til I was 16.....but my group of friends really dressed up. There were 5-6 of us and we would usually try to do a theme costume for the whole group. It was a lot of fun and kept us out of trouble!

Kinda OT, but my dad refuses to let anyone except him answer the door during halloween bc he had a girl come into his ER once who got stabbed by a guy who was pretending to be a trick or treater. So please ladies, be careful and check before you open the door!

And IMO, it's just candy not a BMW or a diamond ring.. so I don't really care how old they are or if they wear costumes. If they come to our house they get candy  We even give the chaperones and older kids who escort their siblings candy, just bc it's nice to see everyone having fun =)

i stopped at about 15 then started again cuz i had to take my lil sister..haha i lvoed it.. im ma big kid too ( im 22) i stopped at about 18 then she started to go with the nanny and her firends and dint want me there anyway..

teehee.. i think any age is fine.. i guess over 18 is weird.

I'm 13 and Halloween is my favorite holiday  I love dressing up and trick or treating. I'll probably go until next year but I think its a little rude for me to keep going after that.

Same here  I think that was a lot more fun than dressing up and going to a Halloween party with people getting wasted and gross guys hitting on you!

Inappropriate-for-the-occasion humour: Hallowe'en's the only day of the year where you can chase after a person with a bloody knife and everyone will laugh. ;)

I hate it when fifteen year olds show up with jeans, a t-shirt, and some toilet paper tied around their neck, but like boxermom, I'm a softie. Come on, boys and girls! I'm not asking for winning cosplay designs or Puca Project idealism, but even a little effort would be nice.

I think I quit trick-or-treating around sixteen. The distant neighbours started hitting on me and one guy asked me if I thought it was a good idea to throw a big, booze-ridden house party for the older Trick & Treaters. :sweatdrop:

I agree that I don't care how old you are as long as you are polite and in costume! We have a very active neighborhood with a ton of kids so Halloween is a great time at my house. I have had some teenagers come to my door, but I don't care. My oldest child is 9 and I she loves trick-or-treating. If I told her she had to stop at age 10 she would be crushed.

I think that teenagers are caught between ages...and are just being a teenager....

I have a 14 yr old and he is still young inside but feels that he has to act older...he is really in a stage where he is trying to shed the little boy and trying to become the man and is going through the changes...

So although they want to trick or treat...they dont feel comfortable wearing a custum....but get caught up and want to be apart of the fun and will go trick or treating with their siblings or with a group of friends....I think its o.k...
