How much do sales associate make at LV?

I've encountered some SAs that don't strike me as any more happy to be at work than at any other retail place I go to. But, in my experience, I have experienced far more that seem happy to help and love to share a bit of LV history with me (which I love to learn about) and are happy to show me whatever I ask to see and then some. I shop online frequently because of our distance from the boutique, but I enjoy going into the store because I love the personalized experience, and giving my sale to a person when I can. Sorry to those who seem to not have had a good experience- keep looking because I've had so many more great SAs than any that seemed indifferent (and that was really the worst, I've never experienced anyone that was rude at all).

Yes there is a commission system, which is actually fairly new (couple of years now?). Some categories such as RTW, exotics, fine jewelry, and hardsided pieces are more rewarded than bags and SLGs.

Interesting to know, never knew that bit. I generally don’t encountered any SA that’s particularly pushy on those except one new SA I remember trying her best to piqué my interest in the fine jewelry section :)

It appears that some make commission and some don't. Also, in many cases, the commission is incredibly low - almost non-existent. . Check "glassdoor" reviews for more details. I was told by an SA directly that they don't make commission. I think there is little consistency.

I have a family member that is a SA at LV in Southern California and she makes commission . The amount of commission is based on the item sold. Like leather goods, shoes, ready to wear, jewelry, watches, etc. All categories have a different commission percentage.

It is a bit more complicated. Yes they do make different commission percentages based on the item, but it also appears that there are different commission rates - depending on seniority. Some also do NOT make commission - as I was directly told and as you can read in "glassdoor" reviews. I won't go back and forth on it anymore as you can see the reviews of SAs that actually work at LV to get all the details. It is quite varied.

That's the LV in Saks? They have so many SAs (and possibly high turnover?) as I never really see the same face twice, and they seem to always have someone that told me they are still learning the products and history because they are new. The service is ok, but their stock level is so low that they never have anything I wanted. The better store is Holt Renfrew Bloor. The worst is Bloor Boutique. This is my personal experience but google review seems to confirm that.

Lol. Same here. Had my Neverfull DE MM
for 4 years as well and no cracking on straits or edges. Looks brand new. I guess it depends on how well one takes care of it. I don’t baby it but I don’t throw it around either.

I could completely wrong but I think they changed the thickness of the handles subtly and worked out a better way to "coat" the handles. I babied my NF (bought 2009 - Holt Renfrew, Vancouver) for the first 2 years - used it maybe twice a month only, realized I couldn't stop the cracking and wrinkling (I think the handles were too thin across, so the stitching just pulled at the handle through the needle holes everytime I used it) and just started using it the way a bag was meant to be used :P

My handles also look much thinner than the ones I see walking by me on the streets...maybe I should send it in and get those handles replaced.

As for LV SAs, I've purchased from multiple LV stand-alones and department store branches - across Canada, US, Europe and Asia; and I haven't met an unfriendly SA till I got to Brisbane. The LV and Chanel SAs here are definitely more "uppity" than the Bvlgari and Dior ones. Is it going to affect where I shop? Yes. I always check out new locations by going into the stores dressed business casual with a longchamp, sort of a litmus test of whether I'm going to enjoy in-store experiences or if I should just wait for Europe trips. Dior's staff greet you at the door, as do Bvlgari and Tiffany and Co., the Chanel and LV SAs that I met over multiple trips waited for me to greet them.

They are the WORST in Florida; especially Boca Raton. But to play devil’s advocate, so are the clients, lol!

Sorry you think this way. I have bought all of my purses and slgs at this store and have always had Great service! Including returns and exchanges no questions asked. Ask for Caryn if you ever decide to go there.

I had a very frank conversation with my SA before she left. They work part time hours. They do make commission, and she told me how much, and it's a complete joke. They also don't see that commission until 60 days have passed, and they won't see it at all if the customer returns the item. I'm not sure if each store has their own policies or if what she told me was company wide. I went to pick up a purchase yesterday and I joked with that SA about working there since I've been spending so much time there anyway. I've worked with her before, she laughed and she quietly said "don't, it may ruin the allure."

Take from that what you will.
