How much do sales associate make at LV?

View attachment 4366732View attachment 4366733 I’m a frequent browser at Saks fifth LV. purchased several items mainly because my SA is really nice (Samantha). She is really good in finding limited items for me. Lately I’ve been shopping at Holts Bloor, Jen Li is the best SA. The only downside with having an amazing SA is that , I end up spending more than I should

Not gonna lie, only entered this thread to drool over the yummies [emoji513][emoji39][emoji7]

They do get commission and I would assume they’re well compensated.
It also depends on how much a company emphasizes on customer service. Good SA’s know the importance of service and how it contributes to their sell. Some don’t care and are there to collect pay checks.
I think overall LV’s customer service has improved tremendously. I have a few SAs and one store i deal with regularly. They respond to my msgs after working hours, send me pics, and ship me stuff without having to go to the store. They’re all amazing including the SM. If you’re not happy with a SA or store shop around till you find someone you find great. More than a few years ago I had to make a purchase at Bloor st. As my store didn’t have the item. I will never purchase from that store again as I didn’t have a good experience.
Maybe the SA thought you had a bad experience with cracking that’s why she checked your account. Also maybe she truly never had a client with straps cracking. She works for the company and believes in their products it wouldn’t have looked good on her or LV if she agreed with you. She most definitely could have positioned things better and made you feel more comfortable.
If you’re looking for a good SA I can provide you with couple but they’re all at Yorkdale. Pm if you’re interested.

I was told directly by an SA that he does NOT make commission. I wanted to buy my bag from him since he was so helpful, but he told me they don't make commission. Some reviews on the "glassdoor" website also say they don't make commission. The reviews also say that sales associates are poorly paid in comparison to associates working for other luxury brands. Maybe some associates get commission and some don't.

Yes maybe is different county to county? I was told by a SA back in Dec that they do. The only reason I asked was because I wasn’t planning on making a purchase that day as my SA wasn’t available and I also wanted to order other items but I felt bad as she was so helpful so I asked her if they were on commission and she said yes. I ended up making the purchase with her and ordering other items thru my regular SA.
I don’t know how LV compensates compared to other luxury brands but as far as customer service goes I would ASSUME they get compensated well as the service is good and has improved over the years.

Well, There are studies stating when you are not compensated well, often employees do not care about how they render customer service. And the crappy service i received, got me thinking if that is the case for associates in premium designer stores.

Really? Thinking like this possibly colours your behaviour, and that is why you are treated with less respect than you obviously think is due to you.

I think we should stop assuming the worst about SAs. That would be refreshing.

Absolutely.

I dread going into LV. If I can order online, I do. I don't feel this way about other brands.

The lack of consistency in service, and frankly just unpleasant or indifferent SAs makes shopping there a chore.

LV is my favorite brand, but I'll walk by LV stores because I don't enjoy the in-store experience. Ironically, I am not a particular fan of Gucci, but greatly enjoy their customer service and stores - go figure.

I asked my SA before and they do get compensated at the end of the year if they have exceeded store goals/ target sales. They also compensate the highest performing SA so it matters who you buy your bag, etc from.

On the other hand, Gucci is very cut throat. Their income relies primarily from individual sales so it's very stressful to work there. They have a very high turnover compared to LV.

I somewhat agree that compensation does affect how these SAs treat customers. Gucci seems to be more friendly in general imho.

I am still wondering how much an SA makes on average and if they really do get commission - from the way some of them act like they are so special they must make a ton of money.

My guess is that they have sales quotas and are expected to sell or are rewarded for selling a certain amount.

I have never had an issue at Louis Vuitton. In fact, they seem to swarm on me and offer help when all I want to do is browse undisturbed.

Aww no, I got really lucky and met an awesome CA the third time I went into my LV store. It’s now pretty fun for me to shop in store, so I actually avoid buying online if I can.

I understand why unpleasant service makes you avoid the store though, it’s how I feel about shopping at Sephora. I hope you meet a CA that you click with!

I'm not sure what you expect. Her to stand there in her place of employment and say. "yeah, LV product suck and they crack". I mean honestly I have had my DE NF for 4 years and mine hasn't cracked. I just don't know what you expect. you and her to stand there and talk about how ****ty DE straps are?
Lol. Same here. Had my Neverfull DE MM
for 4 years as well and no cracking on straits or edges. Looks brand new. I guess it depends on how well one takes care of it. I don’t baby it but I don’t throw it around either.
