How Many Coats Do You Own?

I went on a coat spending frenzy lately...I just purchased two yesterday from the Barbour store in Philly on Walnut street. Both were one sale. One is the quilted jacket in olive (70% off) and the other is the international jacket in navy (50% off). They've had these jackets around for a while (I've been checking back and now got the best price I think I will ever get). If anyone is interested in these jackets, I suggest calling one near you to see if they too are running the sale. Nice thing about Philly was that I was there for the 4th of July holiday so I saved on tax too!! Will post pics soon!

I own about 15, but I live in Colorado so I think the more the better :). Definitely depends on where you live or travel to though. The thing with coats is that they can completely can an outfit and they are on sale quite often.

At the moment, none. I had 2. One got stolen when I accidentally forgot it in the car while at the mall. The other was lighter colored and my brother decided to stack stuff on it and it got destroyed. Have to go out and buy a new one before winter, it actually gets pretty cold where I live.

I own very few coats and jackets. Every Fall I'm always tempted, because they make for such cute outfits. Then I remember that once I'm indoors, I always remove my coat or jacket and it's no longer part of my outfit. (I get way too hot wearing a jacket.) I save my $ for shoes/boots which I wear all day. :)

I live in the Midwest so I blame the winter. I am trying to justify a black wool coat with leather sleeves I just purchased. I would admit I have too many wool coats but I have no dress black coats.

Teal wool coat, plain
Forest green and black wool coat
Pink gray sweater coat
Khaki trench
Black trench
Leather moto in burgundy
Long brown parka
Black puffer windbreaker system

Way to many to count if your counting light jackets, dressy coats, ski jackets. I'm a sucker for coats. You'd think I lived in Alaska. Unfortunately I live in the south and don't get to wear them as much as I'd like. My last purchase was a Canada Goose for my next ski trip.

I've lived in the Polar Vortex too long! So basically my answer is "many" but they're all different enough in color, warmth & length from each other that they're all keepers in my book

Sporty:
Marmot blue ski coat
Lululemon black down puffer
Patagonia hot pink light down jacket (non-puffy)
Patagonia black wind shell
Sierra Designs hot pink rain shell (crumples down to pouch size)
North Face olive down vest with furry hood

Dressy:
Burberry long soft pink & gray check wool coat
Burberry long black rain coat
Burberry khaki trench
Marc Jacobs hot pink trench
Theory short black military jacket
White House Black Market short khaki jacket

Casual:
Cute brown tweed jacket that I had a tailor make for me on a trip to Vietnam
White House Black Market white crop sleeve jacket
Free People olive military jacket
J.Crew denim jacket

Total: 16

edit to add - after rereading my list the only one I could possibly let go and not miss is my Marmot ski coat bc I've worn my Lululemon puffer the last couple times I've gone skiing

Burberry Brit khaki trench coat
Burberry Brit red rain coat
Burberry Prorsum camelhair short tan coat
Coach pink tweed wool long coat
Coach green cotton/ lightweight long coat
Coach black puffer jacket (thin down padding)
Donna Karan pink cashmere/ wool blend coat (short)
Escada bright orange wool short coat
Escada bright lime green wool short coat
Fleurette long brown wool full coat
Fleurette long red wool full coat
Giorgio Armani long green velour coat
J Crew brown short wool coat (would sell, due to Burberry camelhair, but I don't think it's even worth $20 LOL, J Crew is so saturated. And I'd rather have a wool coat I can throw around than $20)
J Crew green puffer coat
Juicy Couture white puffer coat
Marni long dark brown suede coat
Ralph Lauren Collection (black label) black linen long coat
Ralph Lauren Collection (black label) classic trench coat (may be sold now that I bought the Burberry)
Saks Fifth avenue white leather coat
Theory short light khaki trench (shorter than the burberry, way shorter than the RL Collection - all three khaki trenches are different lengths)

I'm counting 20, but I may need to double check at home :)

This is only things I would consider actual full coats - it does not include blazers, jackets (leather or otherwise), or anything I would leave the house in without snow and winter conditions :)

Waow I'm surprised people own so many, I tend to have coats for different practical reasons only.
6 in total.
-1 trench coat for the in between rainy season
-1leather jacket in between season too
-1 short wool coat, perfect for biking in winter
-1long wool winter coat
-1 puffy parka for the horrid cold and wet and windy days
-1 fur short coat for the cold and dry days.

I'm in terrible need of a nice wool dressy coat! I have one and it's over 16 y.o. and is black, I'd prefer to have a white/beige one since I don't wear a lot of black.
I'd like to get a Burberry or Max Mara one but I don't feel at ease spending too much money on a coat...
