I have 33 bags 🙈 3 non-luxury I’m easily ready to let go of, 2 luxury ones I’m trying to sell off, but no luck so far; other I’m happy to keep for now to figure out my preferences/needs:
- Birkin 35 in Bleu Nuit - she’s the 👑, keeping her forever I hope 💙
- Celine Belt bag in Ruby - my favorite one, one of my first luxury bags, she’s still in great shape after many travels and few years of use ❤️
- 2 more Celine tote bags in taupe: Cabas Phantom in small (even if it’s huge, I bare wore it, but still keeping it as it’s my largest tote) and Cabas Folded in small (trying to sell it off since I barely wear it now)
- 5 Valextra bags (my favorite Italian luxury brand): 2 Iside mini, this size is perfect for me, one in dark burgundy for fall/winter and one in orangey/salmony pink for spring/summer; 2 Brera, one in neon yellow in micro size, cute for going out, one in dark brown snake skin in medium size (haven’t worn it out since I bought it in spring, sure she’ll be very loved in fall/winter), 1 Triennale in medium size in petroleum blue (love wearing her in spring)
- 2 Serapian Secret bags (another Italian luxury brand I really like): one in Mosaico in mini size (great for summer) and one in white leather in small size (but it’s actually large enough to fit a laptop, great for spring-summer)
- 5 Chloé bags: 2 Chloé C bags one in croco-embossed in red in mini size (a fun bag for a night out), one in black leather in small size (this one I tend to wear in autumn/winter with coats, it’s great travel bag since it has a wide detachable crossbody strap); 1 Chloé Daria in croco-embossed in brown in mini size (another fun mini bag for going out); 1 Penelope structured version in dark green in medium size (haven’t worn her out much yet since she’s relatively new, but maybe fall/winter?); 1 Sense basket tote bag in raffia, she’s my only raffia luxury handbag for summer.
- 3 Alaïa bags: one structured Cecile handbag in pale pink, very elegant lady-like vibes, I haven’t worn her as much, but she’s great for weddings and formal occasions; 1 basket tote bag in white signature perforated leather (she’s a keeper, totally unique, but very Alaïa) great for summer; 1 black suede clutch with Swarovski crystal (very unique, elegant, occasion-only, night out clutch)
- 2 Akris Ai totes in small size: one in dark blue with shorter handles and detachable wide shoulder strap, I tend to wear her a lot throughout all seasons; the other one more like a tote, since it has longer shoulder handles and no shoulder strap in bright red leather with horsehair section in the front, I tend to wear her whenever I wear bright red accessories. Both bags are very loved, they’re very lightweight and great for everyday, but also travel.
- 2 Maxmara bags: one Whitney bag in mini size in dark brown (she’s the OG Whitney, the leather quality Maxmara has now for Whitney bags is very plasticky, but my Whitney was one of the first editions and she’s in a great smooth shiny leather, I love to wear her throughout the seasons; one foldable tote bag in small size in dark blue, she’s somewhat similar to Hermes Picotin in terms of style and function, but given that Picotin doesn’t have pockets, I like that my Maxmara has a pouch, she’s great for travel, very low-key handbag, no hardware, no logo.
- 1 Issey Miyake Bao Bao in white with unique snow/iceberg-like print, she’s limited edition, very loved, easy to travel with, since very lightweight and foldable.
- 1
Fendi wallet on chain in black, my n.1 evening bag, easy to style, love wearing her to the theater.
- 1 Gucci woc in white - never worn 🙈 trying to sell it off, when I bought it I thought I’d wear it as a clutch in summer, but totally not my style and function-wise I prefer other mini bags than this one, since it barely fits anything. One of the only handbag purchases I really regret.
- 1 Lanvin hobo bag with chain in black: she’s really loved and very beat up now since the leather is quite delicate, I’ve worn her on so many occasions day-to-evening and whenever traveling, so I’ll be keeping her as long as she’s presentable 😅 I like the style, the size, functionality, everything about her, and I’ll be sad once I let her go but very happy she lived so many adventures.
- 1 YSL vertical shopper in black: my first luxury handbag, I’ve worn it so much the first few years and now since the handles and corners show some wear and I have other tote bags, I don’t wear it as much. But still not ready to let her go 😅
- 1 Tumi backpack in purple: my favorite travel bag, especially when I need to bring my laptop, great for office, since it’s very lowkey.
- almost forgot about my Longchamp Filet tote in red in small size, she’s great for summer, I use it mostly as my beach bag.
The 3 bags I’m ready to let go off are: Marc Jacobs Tote bag in canvas in light blue, she’s really old, lost her color, I’ve been using it for the beach in the past 2 summers, but this summer I didn’t even wear it, so ready to let her go; one mini DKNY shoulder bag in bright green Saffiano leather, she’s really old, the hardware is all scratched up, she was very loved, but since I haven’t worn it this summer, I’m ready to let her go too. The third one is green Lululemon nylon shoulder pouch, I don’t wear this as much as I thought I would, I got it as an alternative to Uniqlo nylon pouch, but I don’t like this sporty look at all, so she’s not for me 🤷♀️
I love all of my handbags, I know over 30 items might be a lot 🙈 and I can’t believe that in just few years I was able to build such a beautiful collection ❤️ now I’ll try to enjoy what I have and let go of/sell off the ones I’m no longer reaching out for. I have handbags for every season/occasion and given all these bags are luxury, I know they may seem as a big splurge, but I was lucky to have a few great friends who invited me to private sales, so some of these I got way less than retail 😉
Updated: now that I have seen on this thread that some other members have way beyond 30 bags, I don’t feel as guilty anymore of my collection 😅 anyway I’m very lucky to have a very supportive DH, some of the bags were his gifts and he really enjoys when he sees how excited I’m about choosing which bag to wear out today.
