Mine started with the pochettes about 9 years ago and slowly grew to the bags and full size scarves. While I am content with my current collection and don't actively seek anything else, if something amazing does appear, I won't say no....

I'm going on 20 yrs, if you include family influence.

But if you think about it, your relationship with Hermes is not unlike a good marriage.

You start out and are intoxicated. You have to be around the other. You do ridiculous things to stay near the other, spend foolishly (At that time, the idea of an Hermes Palladium Ice Pick seems to make sense - And of course you can replace all of grandmother's china, after all the H has little red bits on it - Flip Flops, I'll take 5!...)

Then you walk in the boutique and see all of the AW designs, and say "Well, I don't need it" and you only buy the ones you can't live without. All of a sudden, you are only buy 2-3 pairs of shoes, a couple of scarves, maybe a bag - something witty or just plain gorgeous. However, you buy your gardening tools at the local nursery.

In that stage, you might look at other designers. If H is forgiving, you'll even buy other designers. But you know you are still in crazy love with your H, and the other bags are a fling, or a friend...

Ok, my SO would be hurt if I brought home a potential boy toy, but H wouldn't be. That's where the analogy falls down a bit.

But I can't think of any other brand which would tempt me until I buy designer gardening tools or a colourful towel.

my DD who's 6 just came in and announced she had a dream about going to church several times a day ... then she said actually i think it was hermes store ... the church of hermes... so I guess she just joined ... this is going to be a big problem

wow.. i didnt know about this thread; anyways .. hi dreambags...

as you know, i became interested in H a couple of months before my Paris trip last September.. so i'm still pretty new to the party....

before that I used to have phases of other brands.. LV, then Chanel until last September.. (i have over 20 Chanel bags ). My mom doesnt believe in re-selling, so i'm keeping all of them..

Used to think that H was for older ppl at that time... (stupid me)... so I decided I would cross-over when I'm more mature like 40 or 50 or something... but no no... i have to admit i am wrong...

Another thing that I was wrong about.. I thought I would only want 1 birkin...
but..... since then.. I want them all in different colors... and I fell in love with Hermes in general, and have been getting all sorts of different accessories, belts, other bags, everything..Since September, I now have 6 H bags, more than 10 scarves, 20 twillies, 2 croc kelly dogs, 1 CDC, wallet and a couple of belts.

I might have to slow down a bit, cos at this rate.. i might go broke soon and mom might kill me!!! but... i dont think this addiction will go away any time soon T.T
