H is the only brand I can honestly say I think about everyday. I can never get enough. Once you have had the best of the best, you can never go back to something inferior.
H, you had me at "hello".

Cheers to the love affair that will never end!

First thing that stunned me was H desk clock in the form of bear, gold with sapphire (I think) eyes, it was about 15 years ago. I didn't care much for bags then.
My first purchase was about two years ago and it was a wallet, then came shoes, and bags. I also like other brands, but H is definetely the best.

How long will the addiction last once you fell in love with Hermes? Is there anyone once fell in love with Hermes but now switched to another brand? I heard you start loving bags (go through different brands) but when you reach Hermes, you will love it forever. Is this true? Does anyone every recover from the Hermes addiction?

My vote was: Less than 5 years and it is scary how many orange boxes and brown ribbons you will find in my house.

I guess the answer is YES
when you reach Hermes, you will love it forever

I got my first scarf in September 2007 now I have 44 - yikes! Some are ebay purchases and some are Hermes new purchases. It's frightening. I "only" want another 2 from AW09 then I shall be content for a little while - I hope:graucho:

I grew up with Hermes but have only recently started purchasing the items. Other designers took my money, lol, but I no longer care for the logos or plastic or trendy crap (and a good deal of the materials used on many a designer bag IS crap) so Hermes quiet classic elegance is where I have landed and will stay.

I don't believe I will ever stop the addiction because elegant and good taste (classic lines, find materials, etc) NEVER go out of style or end. :smile1:

i think it's true!! when this little piggy was still in high school, she had a list of GOALS to accomplish in her lifetime . . .

buy a birkin before age 30 was already in the top 5! back then i thought "if i could only have just ONE birkin, i'll never need another bag ever again . . .

finally at age 24 i purchased my ficelle lizzy baby 25 (ya i kno i kno, everyone said the same thing, when piggies go they go all out :p) . . . BLISS!

. . . and then 3 months later i bought a chocolate togo . . .

. . . and 6 months after that, shiny rouge H poro . . . .

. . . . and next month, off to the PARIS with panda, where our plan is to conduct twice-daily birkin-stalking missions . . . i imagine it will be somewhat like big-game hunting, only less dangerous and far more exciting! :yahoo:

*also developed total disinterest in purchasing any non-H bags whatsoever . . . like literally not a single one . . . . since i got my chocolate togo . . . haha i didn't even realise until just now! :sweatdrop:

Until I die.

Or at least until I'm a little old lady in a nursing home and I no longer remember my own name.......

Actually....... maybe the nurse will ask me what my name is and, after a little hard thinking, I'll shout out "Birkin!!"

Too cute!!(I may turn out this way too:p)

Guess it depends on the person and their budget.

I'm getting to the end of my scarf collecting as I've nearly got all of the colors I ever wanted, and I'm only interested in one or two more shawls, but I've been told by numerous SAs that I'll probably need to go to Loro Piana since Hermes doesn't do the colors I want all that often. I'm stocked on small leather goods, too. Outside of a cashmere blanket, I'm not in the market for all that much.

It does seem a bit odd to not have a list of things I want anymore.

You never know. I got my first scarf in 1990, returned it, got the Hommage a Mozart (sp?) in 1992, then my beloved pince a linge keyring, stayed away for over 10 years...and then I started like a maniac in 2007 with the horn scarf ring. Thousands of dollars later....:D

^^Don't you worry. Just when we think we've seen it all and bought all we want, H gives an old standard a new twist and we are re-seduced.
