How is your epsom bag ageing?

I find the structure of Epsom and Sellier stitching to be the perfect match.
My K35 Sellier in black purchased new from Hermes last December is often used yet it’s corners are pristine. I’m not crazy careful but avoid bumping it around or having it sit on the floor. I also return it stuffed, to its sleeper when not in use.
I’d be extra cautious with Epsom K or B Retourne’ because the style seems less a match for the stiffer leather. It’s all about personal taste of course but I prefer Retourne’ in a softer, more corner-friendly leather like Togo or Clemence.

Wow all the way to 2015 ... I used to love epsom.
I am looking at a gorgeous Kelly 28 gris asphalt PHW Epsom leather. My only concern is the way the Epsom might wear. This bagbis non-returnable and will probably never come along again, much less at this price. It is perfect! I know I will get good use of it. But now I am fearful of damage and corner wear. But coming across another with all these specs in another leather is probably 0% chance. Please advise! 10% off sale ends tomorrow, and no sales tax!
I had to return the trench Kelly 32 retourne that I thought was going to be a dream. First of all, it was not delivered - the UPS delivery boy, not the regular driver but a temporary for the week, forged my signature. He absolutely did not deliver it to me. I called to find the whereabouts of the bag, as UPS showed it was to be delivered on Dec 30. The store said it had been delivered Christmas Eve. Well you can imagine my horror. An investigation was launched, and long story short, it later turned up in front of my house. Regardless, the bag was in horrid condition. I don’t know how they could say it was in “very good” condition. The handle was wet and gooey and the seams were torn where the bag connects to the flap. So I am still on my hunt. Thank God I got my credit, as the seller started to tell me it was too late to return it. However, that was UPS fault.

I think you will find that if you miss out the on this opportunity another will always present itself.
So do not pressure yourself into buying this as you clearly have concerns.
You might have to accept that a pale, or indeed any, Kelly in Epsom might not be for you.
You will never feel comfortable with it and always be on the look out for wear of some form or other.
If you cannot be relaxed with it, you will never enjoy it.

Personally love epsom in sellier kellys. No issues of the leather creasing and has such a clean look. I own sellier kellys in chevre, togo and epsom and i dont think corner wear is more susceptible in epsom... the corners are sharp so you must be rubbing the bag pretty hard to get wear but that will be the same for all leathers not just epsom.

My oldest epsom bag is a birkin 25 around 7 years, other than normal wear and tear, no difference from other leathers. I do rotate my bags alot. Will not get another b in epsom again (ok unless the color is tdf) as i dislike the creasing but another epsom sellier k or constance? Absolutely

How young is UPS hiring these days? Where was the bag in the interim -- did you ever find out? Was the delivery person attempting to steal it, to have it for a week?

I told the story only to explain why I am looking yet again for a K of this similar size and color - I had previously posted that I already had one on the way. The UPS story is lengthy and veers even more off topic. I may tell it on the thread where I began the story of its purchase. It makes my heart race with anger just to think about what happened and what could have happened. Regarding “UPS delivery boy” - the regular UPS driver appears to be in his early to mid 20’s, the age of my son, and quite small. He referred to the other driver as his friend and gave me his name. So I refer to them as boys. I could have also used the term “young man,” but chose not to as it implies decency (which he was obviously not) and it takes too long to spell out, which I have clearly now eliminated any convenience in the shortening. This temp UPS boy/young man had also delivered 4 large packages onto my neighbor’s doorstep just days before. Prior to that, a Birkin was just left on my doorstep with no signature. UPS here is terrible. Fortunately all of my neighbors are all military colonels and retired military colonels so they are honest and helpful.

Can we get back to the topic of this thread please? How has your Epsom aged?

There are probably threads on UPS in the general shopping forum, TY
I’ve had my black Sellier 35 in epsom with gold hardware for 2+ years. I carry it regularly and see zero signs of wear...corners are as perfect as when new. When I see Hermes bags with terrible corner and interior wear I can’t help but wonder how or why anyone could take these lovely bags for granted.

Thank you, this is for me too. I love the look of my epsom sellier kellys but I am wondering if they are for me. In less than 2 years, they have sustained minor scratches, a small dent on a fairly regularly used one for work, and some scuff marks on the handles where the hooks are, despite hooking them in the right direction. Would you say they are normal usage signs for epsom sellier kellys? I am careful with my bags but cannot help but feel sad how come they are showing wear signs everywhere I look. I am certainly not 'relaxed' every time I carry them.

In contrast my togo birkins have shown no signs of wear (or so I think, I probably can't see them), my clemence lindy and picotin too.

I just got a constance in Epsom but it has a light scratch on the front flap. it's not obvious when you look at it directly but under certain angle you can see it. anyone know if Spa can fix it? it's really heartbreaking!
