How is your epsom bag ageing?

I love epsom in SLG (have a few bracelets) and small bags (a jige and a kelly pochette). I actually love the stiffness.
But I wouldn´t recommend epsom for a big bag. Bought an epsom B35 from FHS last year and it´s not ageing well. Like the stiff look, but hate the corner wear.
Hope this helps.

May I ask how often do you use the b35 Epsom? Also, can you please post some pics of the corners? Tia!!!!

I have a red Epsom wallet. It's finally beginning to look like leather after a few years use. Less stiffness, more lustre, pleasantly surprised.
My gold Epsom Trim is just ok. I am careful with my bags but corners are lightly scuffed . Would never buy an Epsom bag again- small goods maybe.

Now I am seriously having doubts about my Epsom b35. Just bought it during thanksgiving weekend and haven't used it yet. Just afraid. Maybe I shouldn't care and just use it.

Does it look really bad and noticeable?

I've an Epsom 35B and it is 7 years old. The corners are fine and wears well. I guess it depends on how you treat the bag. If you carry on the arm and it sits around your tummy, there is a higher chance that you will bump the corners. I always carry it lower and also never put the bag on the floor, just on a chair so it avoids a lot of wear and tear. You shouldn't have to worry too much about Epsom.

Thank you so much for your input! It really makes me feel better about owning Epsom.

I'm the minority here. Scratching and wear doesn't really troubles me but I hate it more when leather stretches and loose its shape. maybe this is purely psychological but I always use my b35/k32 etc in epsom when I have real things to carry, if you know what i mean...When I carry my togo/swift b35 and k32's I wouldn't want to fill even half of the bag.

Thank you for sharing your experience about Epsom!

I'm thinking that I should start using my Epsom b after positive feedback about the corners.

Really excited!!!

I would not worry about it. My wife has used her all year after getting a B35 in red and it still looks new. Just be careful where you place it down and you will be fine. She does not like sagging so epsom is perfect. We just added a bleu paradis B35 this weekend, hope I get somethig as nice ;-) for Christmas.

Thank you A W! I'll be careful not to put it on the floor.

I hope you getting something nice!!!

Reviving an old thread. Just wondering if this is normal wear & tear. Bought a Blue Paradis Epsom B35 late March this year direct from the store & after using it twice I noticed some corner wear. Didn't think much about it until I had another closer look after using it less than 6x. Was shocked to see there's some wear over the piping & it kept spreading up with each use & on removing the twilly, it looks like the layer of paint has chipped off the handle. I continued wrapping it with twilly but panicked when it kept getting bigger.

I treated the bag just the same as my other H bags (but they were in Clemence, Togo, grain dh/swift) & all of them are still in great condition. I've used an Epsom silk'in wallet for more than a year & no issues with scratches or paint peeling. I know Epsom especially in big bags gets corner wear easily but should it be that quick to spread up the piping? & I've never had any issues with my bag handles before. I don't know if I've scratched it but the other handle is intact & I've always kept my nails short (for work).

I decided to take the B back to the store when I noticed they were all getting bigger (even bigger than in the pic). I said to the SA if this is normal, I'm happy to wait 'till it badly needs a SPA before sending it off. He didn't think it looked like normal wear & tear & so sent it to another state for opinion. He asked me whether to send the clochette too & when we looked at it closely, it had a circular whitish spot similar to the piping on the lengthy leather part. I don't wear moisturiser or perfume. The SA rubbed the area & it didn't look like it was stained by something. I should've taken a photo of it as it looked unusual.

So I haven't heard from them since dropping the bag off late April. When I asked, the staff assumed the bag has been sent to Paris. I just asked them for an update today & she said it may take up to 4 months to hear back from them.

Having spent so much on a bag, you wouldn't expect to pay few hundred extra to repair something you just used less than a month.

So the wait continues....

That doesn't look normal. I have several epsom bags and none look like that.
