How is your epsom bag ageing?

Revamping this old thread hoping to see more pictures of aging epsom. To fellow tpfers who own aged epsom, would you be kind enough to post pictures here? I know two other members expressed interest in seeing pictures too. Please .. please ... ;) Thank you...

My mom has an epsom K and epsom Evelyne and I am not a fan. Because of the embossing scratches and corner wear seem more noticeable and overall the bags just don't look quite like leather where even a Clemence or Togo bag while subject to the same corner wear is quite scratch resistant and seems restorable.
I am probably biased because I really just do not like epsom personally - it is a leather I would turn down in probably any bag - and wish my mom had Clemence and Barenia and box bags to steal :giggles: However, epsom is definitely lighter and takes colors in a great way, and I respect those who love it.

Thanks QuelleFromage! How old are the epsom K and evelyne? Do you have pictures of them? It seems to be a concensus here about corner wears.

I have a vintage Trim in Rouge H Epsom and it seems very robust and so far unscathed . I can only compare to new Clemence , which I have in an Evelyne , Amazonia and Toile .
The Epsom has a lustre, neatness and precision , compared with the more relaxed and matte Clemence .

When the Trim arrived I was put off by the feel , like cardboard . However I liked the boxy look in this style and adore the lightness of it .

Happen to have a couple of Evelynes out packing for a trip. Please excuse the colours, used my phone for a quick reply and the colours are somewhat off but the textures and any wear show well.

Top Evie is a Pink Shocking Epsom MM (J in a square) recently cleaned/polished with Meltonian cleaning lotion.

Underneath Rose Jaipur Clemence GM P in a square. Both have had lots of wear.

Just saw original post asking questions about corner wear.

Noticed when I zoomed in there is a tiny tiny chip on the leather binding of the clemence GM on the bottom.

Miss Epsom was looking ever so slightly raw on the binding before her clean & condition but thankfully has recovered beautifully.

I have Epsom in Birkin 30, GM Evelyn and constance elan. Epsom ages much better in smaller items such as the constance. It's like new. But I am not sure I like how it looks on B30 and E that much compare to other leathers.

Found this thread as I am looking to buy an epsom bag. I wonder if the creases created on the sides due to the sinking effect in the middle can be eliminated through spa service? And whether this sinking issue can be avoided? Hope to hear from opinion from the experts here.

I love epsom in SLG (have a few bracelets) and small bags (a jige and a kelly pochette). I actually love the stiffness.
But I wouldn´t recommend epsom for a big bag. Bought an epsom B35 from FHS last year and it´s not ageing well. Like the stiff look, but hate the corner wear.
Hope this helps.
