I keep my bags stuffed and in their dustbags when not in use and store them in the shelves.

I store mine in their dustbags (or if I have no dustbag for that particular bag in a pillow case), on shelves in my closet. I tend to stuff some of the bags with towels to help them retain their shape....trouble is I'm now running out of towels...

Hi everyone! I'm really wanting to reorganize the way I store my Coach bags. Currently, I keep them in their dust bags on a shelf in my closet. It is getting really cramped and I need to make room for new ones (LOL!). Anyways, I thought I would like to store them in a way that I could also see them and label them. Please share your ideas on how you store your bags, wristlets, wallets, etc. TIA! :smile1:

for my small goods, I keep them in the little white dustbags inside a 3 drawer rubbermaid container $9.99 at Target, I have a drawer for mini skinnies, a drawer for wristlets, and a drawer for agenda, key fobs, wallets, and sunglasses. As for my bags, they go up on the shelves, and I have some spilling into the next room. When I move again, I plan on getting a shelving unit!

Right now they're just stored in their dust bags on the shelves in my closet also (and spilling out into my room majorly! lol!) So, I'm now in the process of turning the smallest extra bedroom into a kind of huge walk in closet for me and my 20 year old daughter to share. 2 walls will have floor to ceiling shelving units where the bags will go (in their dust bags of course). Then my plan is to print out small sized pictures of each one and have them laminated. Then I'll hang those off of the front of the shelves in front of each purse. (haven't figured out how I'm going to hang them yet, but will just tape if need be) I need to get organinzed to be able to find what I need!

My bag collection is starting to overtake the wardrobe where I keep them! I was thinking that I should store my summer bags in order to allow me easier access to my Fall/Winter bags

I was thinking about putting them in their white Coach storage bags and putting them in a tote. The tote would be stored in an area where the temp stays pretty much the same.
After reading glazebrookgirl's post I'm a little worried to do this!

My summer bags are mainly fabric trimmed with leather or just fabric. I do have one or two light coloured non-Coach leather ones I was wondering about too

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

^^^ I'm curious to see the responses to this question as I need to finally organize all of my bags. Right now they are all in my closet either in their dust bags or in Coach boxes.

I read somewhere that totes aren't great for storing because the leather needs to "breathe". I'm toying around with getting a large wardrobe for one of our spare bedrooms to store them in.

Yeah, I wouldn't use plastic/rubber totes to store leather in.

My mother had a real-life example of this ... a little leather coin purse she'd left in a baggie for many years. When she found it again, the leather was *VERY* dry. I've conditioned that little purse (with apple conditioner) at least three times now, letting it sit in the air to breathe and sort of 'marinade' in the conditioner, and it's *finally* feeling more pliable again.

In her case, the coin purse had been in the plastic for some years. But still, it obviously doesn't do good things for leather.
