i'm blessed to have a well paid job. i love shopping for bags. and keep experimenting with brands n designers. Key point is save save save.... i dont believe in credit card debts. the interest will kill u.....

I'm a 26 year old grad student. I'm fortunate to have a well-to-do father who appreciates fashion. When I was in college he gave me a credit card but I couldn't bring myself to buy anything expensive. So I would get a designer bag as a birthday present or my father would buy me one when he went abroad.

Then I moved all the way to New York for grad school. My father still supports me (it's an Asian thing, I'd say) but he gives me allowances instead which I love because now I can save up money and buy things myself. I don't use credit card here. Just a debit card. So I only buy things when I have enough money. My passions are bags and food. I don't buy expensive clothes or shoes but I'm willing to spend good money on bags and food.

I'm graduating soon and I know once I graduate, I wouldn't be able to afford expensive bags so this year I have been buying a lot more bag than I used to-- using the money I have been saving. So far from last December I have bought 4 designer bags (from $700 - $1,500) and a wallet. But usually I buy around 2 designer bags a year and usually they're under $800.

And now since I discovered tPF, my bank account is in trouble! :D

I am 41 years old and married. I have always loved handbags ... I blame the addiction on my mother and grandmother. My husband and I both freelance for a living and during he years we have done well I purchased most of my high end bags. I am currently finishing up a yearlong gig and will be looking for my next so no more bags for me for a while. I have a bad habit of charging and taking a few months to pay them off. I am currently selling off those that I don't use so that I can pay off my newest purchases and plan to turn over a new leaf. Time to put the credit cards to rest ...

I purchase some of my bags, ask for some for birthday/christmas gifts lol, or my boyfriend buys me some lol, or my boyfriend's mom/sister would give me some cause they have never used it (bf's sister is sort of famous lol and seriously has a million purses and designer things lol that she never uses)

also I sell things that I don't use to buy things I want lol.

My husband and I each keep a certain amount to buy whatever. bags are my thing, duh, tee hee. And I sell old bags I don't want to my friends, or on ebay, and I sell anything around my house I no longer want. Any gift time, My husband knows I want a purse or cash for one, he is great that way. I collected many things over the years that I sell off now.

I am a current college graduate
I have a total amount of 3 designer bags a LV, Marc Jacobs and one Dooney & Burke
the D & B was a present I have had it for over 6 years
the LV and MJ I bought with my own money I saved up for it and it took me a while but all my money I love them that much more :)

I usually get a new bag for either my birthday or Christmas each year. But this year between Christmas 2010 and my birthday in February I was blessed with 3 new bags lol. When I get a job, I will have a purse/electronic fund- so I can save up for bags that I like. Even then, I probably will only get one or two bags a year- I would rather buy a quality bag versus several bags.

I have a well paid job - but I save for my bags these days, and pay cash - it was way too easy for me to impulse buy when I had credit cards. Now I know when I buy a bag that I can enjoy it without that horrible stressy 'how am I going to pay for it' feeling.

I'm not sure if I posted here or not, but what the hell!

I'm 23 and just graduated from college about two weeks ago. I've been looking for a full-time (or even part-time!) job for a few weeks now and haven't come across anything yet. As of now, I work one day a week at a law office and every now and then do freelance hours at the fragrance department in Macy's. I still live with mom and I paid for my car in full so my only expenses are car insurance and gas, so my extra money can go towards whatever I want.

I am fortunate to have received most of my bags from my parents as birthday/Christmas/graduation/etc gifts. Any other time, I buy my own bags with my own money. As much as it feels good to received a bag as a gift, it feels even better when I can buy one with my own hard-earned money!

Also, I almost never pay full price for a bag. My mom works at Macy's and gets a discount there and at Bloomingdale's and every now and then I go to the outlets and buy a bag from there (and those are usually crazy discounted!).
