How do you afford your bags and how many per year? Credit debt or millionare lover?

I am a stripper. I pay monthly on my student loan debt, two car payments, insurance payments, gym membership, personal trainer fees, & cell phone bill. I live free because my boyfriend & I rent the other side of the duplex we own. I make good money & even have extra time to take on a second job if I ever needed to. I pay off my credit card every month. I average about 2 luxury purchases ($250.00+ on sunglasses, purses, dresses, or shoes etc.) a month. I always save more per month then I spend on luxury items.

I live by a quote that I read in Victoria Beckham's, That Extra Half An Inch, which is "The most expensive item in your wardrobe is the one that you only wear once.”

I sometimes window shop online for two weeks or more deciding if the item I want to purchase will last me 2 years or 2 wears. If the item is something I'm not sure about then I atleast wait until it is discounted atleast 30% & I only purchase from websites w/ free shipping.

I also resell my gently used designer items to online consignment shops and can get back around 75% of the original retail price.

I'm 18 soon to be 19 in two weeks, and I'm a student. My parents are very generous with the CC, and fund the majority of my purchases. I do work, but that money goes to pay my cell phone bill, gas, internet, and cable bill for my apartment. I have purchased a few bags myself though. I worked really hard last summer, and my tax refund reflected that, so I treated myself. I also have an SO who indulges my shoe obsession every once in a while.

I just turned 23 on Thurs... and I am a recent college grad. I work FT and my designer bag purchases began when I found this forum ^__^. I was looking to buy my one big present for finishing college with two degrees and finding a job.. then I stumbled across the purse forum. My collection is small and only about a year old. I fund all my purchases but sometimes my bf buys me gifts for those special days. I have no debt and I only spend money after I have paid all my bills and put money into my savings and 401k.

I am 19 year old, and I am a student. I work a part time job, but I will not work for a couple of months now to get time to focus on school. No debt, but I do not spend my savings on bags. I am careful to only use what I earn and have saved up for a specific bag I want.

I don't get in credit debt for bags, nor do I have a millionaire lover (though that would be pretty interesting! :p). I'm just fortunate to have a really awesome job that pays me well enough for me to buy fun things like gorgeous bags & live in an awesome neighborhood.

Last year I was pretty much a bag nutcase - I think I bought around 9. This year though, so far I've only bought 2 and they were super duper steals. I think I might get one... MAYBE 2 more for the rest of '09 and I'll probably sell some of the ones I bought in '08 and just don't ever use.

I'm 34, married, no kids at home. Up until last year, when I decided to leave my job and start my own company, I made a six-figure salary. Now I make less because I choose to work fewer hours as a consultant, but I still have a lot of disposable income. I own my condo outright, no mortgage, and so my monthly expenses are low, even though we live in NYC. I always buy everything with cash (or I use a rewards CC and pay it off in full every month).

I'm trying to teach my husband to stay totally out of debt but sometimes he carries a balance on his CC. My weakness is bags (but I never go into debt for them) and his is cameras (he's a photographer). He does earn a living from the cameras he buys so I guess it's not so bad if he carries a balance every so often, but I like to be totally debt-free!

We are mid-twenties. I am at a really good job but trying to save, save, save, so I average about $300-400 in luxury purchases for myself each month and maybe half that for SO. Previously, at my various really crappy jobs, SO picked up more of the household costs so I was able to buy the occasional unnecessary and still save. When I was a student I tutored and didn't have much in the way of expenses. I've always paid for my own shopping except for a few gifts for birthdays/Christmas.

I'm 22. Full-time student. I got a scholarship and receive maintenance allowance every month. I always save half of my allowance into a saving account and every two months, I go off and buy a Balenciaga bag. LOL. I see it as an investment.

I am 22 with a full time job. My parents paid for college and everything along with that so I have no debt (thanks mom and dad!). I also still live at home while I save money to move into an apartment (so very close!!). So sometimes I splurge - but I am a bargain hunter - I never pay over 200 for a bag (thanks to sales, most of my bags retail 500-800).

I'm 18 and will be 19 in two months. I work pretty much full time at a job that pays a decent amount for my age. I am planning on going to Culinary School full time in November. I am not in debt, and plan not to be except for when I go to school. My parents do not give me money at all really or buy me my bags because they don't see the reason in spending so much money on a bag. So I buy my bags with the money I save each month which is kind of hard since I just bought a new SUV...oops. I guess I need to get another job! So I only buy bags that are on a good bargain.

I'm 23 and have a full time job. I buy as much as I can pay cash, I spend money for charity and save a lot for different things (short time and long time). I would never buy things I can't afford only with CC or with a rich boyfriend. Of course I get presents from my boyfriend, but if he bought me a 1000$-purse which I can't afford on my own, I would feel like he bought me. We have nearly the same income, his is a little bit higher because he is 3 years older, but that's all.

Just turned 30 and have bought only a few designer bags and wallets so far. (Used to have a $15 Old Navy bag that I used for 6 years - it was awesome.) Am married, no kids, and working full-time - I fund my own bag purchases and they're usually gifts for myself (birthday, getting a job). I am willing to pay full price for stuff that I really like as long as it's not exorbitant.

I'm 26 and have a decent paying job. Married, but no kids yet. My husband (bf at the time) bought me my first three LVs :) but I bought my first Coach after I paid off my student loans. My parents never gave me any money and they don't buy me things, so I had to save up really hard. I paid off my student loan within half a year of graduating from University, and that's when I started spending a bit more money on clothes, etc. I put money away from my paycheck everymonth into a savings account, retirement, etc.

I normally only buy one purse a year, more if I go to a Coach outlet (which means I have to travel). My husband sometimes will buy me a purse for Birthday/Christmas present :) Unlike many of you, I do like to use my credit card (earn those travel points baby!) but I have never carry forward my balance. I pay off my balance every month no matter what, and I never have to struggle to do so.
