Ummm. I actually do not own a piece in Swift, but I wanted to just put a little tidbit of info here in case anyone was interested.
I was recently looking at a specific bag in a specific store, heh, and it was made of Rose Dragee Swift. While I loved the feeling of Swift and I thought the look was very nice in that particular bag, when I inspected it very closely there was ALREADY a rather sizable (2-3") scratch on it. OMG! It was a K stamped bag so it's not like it's "stale", and it wasn't even out on the floor--it has been kept in the back, although the shrink wrap had been removed before it was shown to me, so I was probably not the first person to paw it.
But I just wanted to mention this, because not only did I decide not to take that particular bag, but I felt that it was a bad omen for me + Swift in general. I don't tear up my bags, but I also don't want to have to baby them and seeing a scratch on a brand new bag scared me off.
Thanks for the input ladies! Every little bit of info counts...since Swift leather hasn't been out for very long, it's hard to say whether or not they will stand the test of time. Perhaps one good indicator of how Swift holds up over time and use would be to look at vintage Gulliver leather pieces. I did a search for Gulliver leather, and pics of vintage Gulliver pieces are few and far between. Anyone happen to have any in their computer?
I'm feeling quite upset over the scratched out corner of my Birkin. I mean, I just used it once...I don't even know how it happened! I know I shouldn't be complaining, but I spent quite a fortune on this bag and I can't help but feel a bit disappointed. Sorry if I seem like I'm overreacting, and I knew what I was getting into when purchasing a bag in Swift. I know it isn't as hardy as Togo and Clemence, but I really thought it wouldn't be so delicate. I am looking forward to seeing it develop some patina to toughen it up...but I guess that means I just have to use it more often...
Ya know, I never thought of that--it could very well have been a diamond that caused it. In which case, I know it wasn't ME who did it, LOL, since I certainly don't have a 4 carat rock.I think this is just my own personal fear, but whenever I see women with big satellite engagement rings trying on bags I have to close my eyes and look away ( no mommy, no...!)
Nothing against the ring, but I make it a point to cover mine (which is not a satellite, but I digress) when I slip handles on my arms. I shudder to think some gal may find the Birkin of their dreams only to see it marred by a 4 carat rock!

MIMI, I too would be upset at the corner wear after one delicate wearing. It is baffling and heartbreaking to see corner wear after one or two wearings especially when you don't remember what the heck it rubbed against. Hugs! A spa treatment would touch it up if it is too painful to look at.
