Having sold bags and wallets, I think only luggage tags should be heatstamped! I am in LVoe with the bags and wallets at time of purchase (I say I'll NEVER sell them - but invariably I tire of them and they ultimately get sold).

I was thinking about that to.. What if ????
I want to sold it ? Anyways, this was my 1st
hot stamping LV . I don't do it on my
Purses ;)

I feel like its great on tags. They are interchangeable and can go from bag to bag. Anything else lessens the resale value...which I feel eventually will happen

What you guys think bout hot stamping on
Your wallet ?! I think its very cute and
personal . But, I'm not sure bout hot stamping
all of your collections. * maybe not on the
purses* again, in my opinion ;)

Oh.. I definitely would hot-stamp... which I did on my wallets. It feels so good to see your initials on it! In fact, I would hot-stamp on all the LVs if I could! (Alas, the hot-stamping here is only available for the small leather goods). But I guess if you have the intention to sell it later, I think the hot-stamp could lower the resale value. But for me, I dun care... cos they are going to stay with me for the rest of my life! :D

Wohoooo you go girl ! Thats what I am too .
If I buy something .. and when I really really
like it .. It will stay on me ! Selling or trading
doesn't come cross to my mind . But, maybe
Maybe 1 day when I have to .. Who cares
after ... ;)

As much as I would love to have had it done on my bag:confused1:, I didn't. The plus side for having it done on the bag is that they differ from all the fakes out there ( for easy authentication for those non believers/haters)and it can look nice:tup:. The down side is the resale value:tdown:. Wallets I would do for sure.:okay:

You're very right ! I didn't think bout that .
I know how hurt sometimes that WE paid a
Lot of money to get the real one. I really
bothers me the FAKES out there . Good thing
that I know how to spot a real one ;) I admired
people having real stuff than fakes of course !!!

I have never sold any bag, not because I am rich, but because I am a sentimental fool. I feel that every bag I own has a story to tell, and memories that come along with it. So even if the bags are used to tatters, I just couldn't let go. I learnt this about myself the hard way. Once I threw away a slightly damaged Fendi baguette (Yes, can u believe that I am this stupid?! I actually never thought of selling it!), and up till now I still have regrets for doing so.

Even if one day I were to be old, toothless and immobile, I will still keep them and give them to my daughters. Think they will treasure the humble heirloom I left for them. After all, LV's designs have been proven to last through generations! ;)

Agree! Hot stamp helps to differentiate the real LV from the fakes.:ghi5:

I would definitely hot stamp a wallet, agenda, anything that is considered to be of "professional" use. The initials were basically used to identify a businessman's attache bag or portfolio. The "monograms" were used to identify luggage pieces in the olden days of travel. I think today it's not so much about identifying the piece as a precaution as much as it is a fashionable thing to do.

If I were to hot stamp a purse tho, I would probably like to have it hot stamped at the smallest font somewhere inconspicuous, like on the leather trim of the speedy pocket, if possible.

Above all, I would only have LV staff that had lots of experience doing it, if I've seen them work the hot stamp press before, etc etc. I think this is the most important factor in deciding whether to hot stamp at the LV location of your choice. I don't think every SA can do it, just a select few can do it perfectly.
