Hot stamping ... Yes or no ??

The hot stamping is free and I do it for all my bags (if it can be done in a nice place) but on the last occasion they had hot stamped the wrong initials on my Insolite wallet!! They were able to reverse it ( remove the gold and stamped the correct alphabet over it) but I can still see the imprint on the leather of the wrong alphabet.

Oh my goodness, sorry to hear about the mistake they made on your wallet! If you don't mind me asking, was it a new wallet? The reason I'm wondering is because I recently had my new Azur Compact Zippy wallet hot stamped, and they also made a mistake. I requested the small-sized font, and they used the medium-sized font. My SA (whom I've worked with for a while) apologized profusely, and gave me a new wallet that was hot stamped in the correct size. Maybe they can replace your wallet as well, so you don't have the overlapping imprint?

I just had the luggage tag on my macassar monogram keepall 55 hot stamped in gold and i love it!! It came out SO good that I am now going to have the luggage tag on my macassar monogram keepall 55 hot stamped in gold too! It really adds a nice personal touch to the pieces!

Hi! no its not a new wallet - I purchased the wallet in '08 but only thought of hot stamping it late last year. First they couldn't find the wallet, then when they found it, they showed me the hot stamping and i just could't believe my eyes! I was too shocked but they said it could be corrected (mind you the guy looked pretty devastated too, esp when he double checked the slip). They apologized heaps but did not offer to replace or anything. HB was pretty unimpressed...

hello! i can imagine your shock at realizing their mistake. i prob would have thought they brought out someone else's wallet by accident. again, i'm sorry to hear this happened to you. it sounds like the SA was very distraught. i guess since it was not a new wallet, or a recent purchase, it would be more difficult for the SA to justify a new replacement. at least they removed most of the original hot stamp before placing the corrected one...and i'm sure you're still enjoying your beautiful LVoe!

I dont know if this has been said in the thread, but I've had my LV for a couple years and since there are so many "inspired" bags out, I want to get mine heat stamped. Is it too late since the bag is "broken in"? Its a Mono Speedy and the handles are just starting to turn a honey brown.

My first hotstamping was on my Brazza wallet, I've been a big fan of hotstamping up to the point where I want every single piece to be hotstamped, unfortunately there are only selected pieces that can go under hotstamping, I love the gold pallete and I think it stands out perfectly in a damier ebene and monogram wallets. I noticed though that my brazza has a better gold look than my 6key holder probably because of the fact that I purchased them separately and from different store so I was a little dissapointed. I also regret the decision of choosing a dark gold for my monogram luggage tag because it looks old especially when it starts to oxidise. Over-all im crazy about hotstamping I think it speaks for itself when people criticises your items that its fake so it helps. Downside is you will find it hard selling them when you no longer want them, just good for collecting them instead :smile1:

I got my wallet stamped yesterday and can't wait to get my bags stamped in Paris when I go there in a couple of months! (The LV store in Montreal doesn't stamp bags :() I love the personalization and since there are so many fakes around, I love that it can completely make sure that NOBODY thinks that you're carrying a fake ;)

Every hot stamp I see seems to be plain, red or gold. But there are so many cool colors available! I'm wondering why nobody seems to choose them...

I have a luggage tag stamped with gold and a red one that looks more orange and I have a blue one! I think the blue is my favorite!
