The only thing I would do hot stamping on would be a lugguage tag. Since I will pass my LVs down to my daughters, I don't want to have my initials on them. But it's my personal preference.

I never understood why people hotstamp their bags and told myself I wouldn't do that to my bags........until I bought a Idylle Speedy yesterday. SA recommended hotstamp in the color that matches the stitches. I told her I never hotstamp. She showed me a few options anyway. SA told me to think about it and bring it back any time. Since I got home yesterday I have an increasing urge to hotstamp my Speedy. I really have no idea why!!! I have been going through the forum trying to find pictures of Speedy hotstamped. Thank you so much for sharing your picture. I think I will get my speedy hotstamped.

I totally agree. I have a Mono Speedy 35 and an Ebene Speedy 30. Both are hot stamped with my initials. I hope my daughter will carry them one day with love and a hint of nostalgia. These bags were built to last and (I hope) will stay in the family.

I thought one of the best things about LV items is that they are meant to be personalized. I am still considering a Mon Mono Neverful or Carryall.

Of course-- that is the question to stamp initials or not to stamp and I agreed that stamping is OTT for me. :)

My local store only hot stamps wallets now, because of so many past complaints about the letters not being completely centered on the bags.

I am debating upon whether or not I will have my wallets stamped eventually, because I am still kind of worried that something will go wrong. I definitely want to get luggage tags for my bags, but I'm going to hold off for awhile, just because I'm getting married this summer - so my initials will change.

i think hotstamping is cool on wallets, but not on bags... i think that if you are most likely to sell your bags, the hotstamped feature, would not be the best idea as the resell value might be lower and harder for you to sell as not many of you have your whatever initials... unless it is LV LOL!!!
