Quick question for folks---especially for those who already have the Halzan in barenia---how is it holding up and how much do you use it? I have had a barenia birkin 35 for quite some time and love it, so am familiar with the leather---but the Halzan is a completely different bag (clutch/crossbody). Thoughts? Advice about barenia vs. clemence in this bag?
Thank you in advance!
i just got my halzan in barenia 2 weeks a go, love it to bits! have worn it few times already and is in my current rotation , no issues of it holding up I use it as a work bag (though i do know it does not hold as much as a birkin, but you cant really compare!)

still waiting for my barenia B from my london store , or hopefully when i next visit FSH they will have it

Thank you, azukitea! I went ahead and took the plunge, too, today! Couldn't resist the barenia, as nice as the clemence is. I love how my barenia birkin looks after several years---hope that the Halzan looks just as good.
great to hear you got it! barenia is a better choice for halzan in my opinion! and it smells so nice, addictive to the smell of barenia :)

Hi Halzan lovers, i am contemplating adding a Halzan 31 to my collection. It will be a casual cum travel bag for me and I would like that it's not overly stiff.

My first choice is Malachite Clemence. Should I consider a Barenia as my second choice? Will the leather soften after use?

if u using it for travel i would not recommend barenia. it is prone to marks, unless thats the look u go for... i love my barenia halzan and i would use it for work bag but not as travel....... going through customs , xray machines/ getting on planes will cause scuff marks

It gets buttery after use. The more you use it the more dreamy it feels. It doesn't get slouchy. I especially use my barenia halzan in "challenging" environments. Rainy days, crowded places, etc. It gets marks and scratches and turn into character and is one of a kind. Marks and water drops disappear and develop a patina that is so yummy, a new bag will never have. With barenia, it's either you love it or it's not for you.

It's a leather I don't current have (except for a rivale) and I've heard loads of raves about it. I would love to have it but I also have to be practical about it. I need a travel bag that can allow for a tat more capacity and hence stiff bags are out. I could have used my Bolide 31 for travel but because it is in Fjord, it is very stiff, I can't stuff it.

In this case, I don't think barenia will restrict you much more than any other leathers capacity-wise, but the style of the bag might. It's not ideal if you need to bring some A4 / letter size documents or a big book along with other essentials you usually need to bring along on a trip. The thing with barenia is that you need to dare to use it. Then you mould it, instead of it moulds your use.
