Bumping this thread to ask how everyone is liking their Halzans. For those who have had the bag for a while, do you still love it? Any problems/issues come up over time? I've been thinking of getting another Evelyne PM, but was at the boutique last week and saw the Halzan in Rouge Grenat and was surprised by how much I liked it. The thing is, I didn't like this style at all when it first came out, but (like with the Evelyne) it's really grown on me and seems super user-friendly, more versatile than the Evelyne but also maybe a bit smaller? For those of you who have both a Halzan 31 and an Evy PM, which do you prefer?
I have both, and I use the Halzan more due to versatility. With an Indigo Barenia Evelyne, it is soft and great for super casual trips to the market, work or shopping. The older Eveynes had a narrower strap and it is more comfortable than the newer models with all the hardware. Plus my strap was custom made to wear cross body. My barenia Halzan is beautiful. People stop me on the street to ask about it. I carry it tote style for work and meetings. When traveling it really is great for cross body wear. I am five feet five and it just fits, though would be nice if it was maybe one inch longer. It has been a good investment for me, and knowing barenia, it will age in time to eventually get deeper and richer as well as softer. For me having a heritage leather is the ultimate joy!

Your Indigo Barenia Evy sounds divine! I love heritage leather too -- my vintage Barenia Kelly is probably my favorite bag ever. Is your Barenia Halzan the 31 size? I saw one once a few weeks ago and it was stunning, but a lot stiffer than the Clemence version. Has your Barenia Halzan softened with use?

I'm going to have to try the bag on again. I'm about the same height as you (5'6 on a good day!) and am not sure the crossbody option works as well as I want. Like you, I wish the strap would go just an inch longer. And yet, the bag is so versatile with the various carry options and the outside pockets. Decisions, decisions!

My barenia halzan is only a year old. It is still feeling new yet has a luscious hand and smell. I am in no rush for it to soften. I have a barenia picotin pm that is about 12-14 years old and the sides still stand up nicely. I know my Halzan will be my treasured bag for years to come.

Azukitea, my halzan is a 31.

Photo of my Barenia Halzan next to vintage barenia picotin. See how the color will deepen and become softer? The jige is gold swift.

Dear Lanit, you and I have the same Halzan and I have a very similar Picotin. Would you consider taking the Halzan strap to your store as the craftsperson may be able to punch extra holes for a better strap length. I am going to do that soon.

12 - 14 years!! Now I'm really excited to see how my barenia halzan is going to age. Lanit, we have somewhat similar collection. I have a jige in Vache Natural, and my halzan is 31 as well.

Congrats it looks great on you.
Would love to hear your opinions once you have used it a while.
I believe that Barenia is ok in the rain and the spots should disappear.
Rain friendly bags are a must for us UK'ers.
Looking forward to more action pics.
:hugs:

Quick question for folks---especially for those who already have the Halzan in barenia---how is it holding up and how much do you use it? I have had a barenia birkin 35 for quite some time and love it, so am familiar with the leather---but the Halzan is a completely different bag (clutch/crossbody). Thoughts? Advice about barenia vs. clemence in this bag?
Thank you in advance!
