I didn't think that the Halzan (regular size) was for me, but after my SA showed it to me in person (after I mentioned that I was looking for an Hermes under-the-radar bag for travelling), I absolutely love it! I don't like to shop impulsively, so I would like to reflect on whether or not it is a wise purchase. I imagine that it is a good casual bag that will largely go unnoticed as a luxury bag. So, it now comes down to the most difficult decision, as with all expensive Hermes purchases... should I buy it and if yes, which color? For all of you that already own the Halzan, can I ask you to pretend you don't already own this bag and answer the following three questions:
1. Would you buy the Halzan again?
2. Is it a practical bag?
2. What color would you choose for best versatility?

Agree with @DoggieBags regarding features of the Halzan. I had three in total, all neutral colors, rouge H, black with white stitching and barenia. I released the first two to get the barenia one. I do not regret any of them but only needed one since I have other H bags similar and size in either cross body or shoulder bags. I think Halzan looks great in either neutral or pop colors. Hope this helps!

this bag has been on my wishlist for a year or so because I loved the shape and the versatility. I wanted it in etoupe or etain but during my trip to Italy I could only find the black one. Actually glad to get this black one with GHW, I think it looks so classy & I could wear it in the evenings too.

Congratulations! It is a beauty in black with GHW, even better that you got it while travelling - how memorable. I am sure you will get lots of use out of your Halzan, it is one of my most worn bags.

Thank you I didn’t know either until a member posted a pic of this exact color combination in the 31 size that had popped up on the French site last year. I asked my SA about it and when this mini arrived in one of the shipments she remembered our convo and grabbed it for me looking at pictures various members post on TPF is a continuing source of education for me about what is possible with H. My SA has been fantastic but I don’t expect her to be a mind reader. The more specific I can be, the more likely it is that she will be able to find stuff that my wallet will not agree with and sifting through the threads on TPF has really helped me refine my wish list. So a big thank you to all the members who post about what they’ve seen or what they have in their personal collections. Love the never ending eye candy!

Love black bags and the ghw makes it so special! Your halzan is a beauty and it’s such a lovely souvenir.

I don’t remember seeing a halzan ghw before, so happy Hermès has started making more bag styles with ghw.

I believe usually the 31 comes with contrast stitching (including black) & Mini comes with tonal stitching. The only tonal stitching 31 that I've ever seen is the one that I saw here with the gold hardware.

I'm interested in Halzan but my store hasn't had one in ages so I haven't had the opportunity to try one on... How does it actually open? Do you have to undo that buckle to release the straps, every time you need to get into the bag? If yes, isn't that a huge hassle?
