Hooray for the Halzan...

Funny enough, I use it more as a handheld bag than a shoulder/carry. It’s surprisingly light, has a great shape and the pockets are perfect for my phone. The top handle is soft and pliable which makes it even more comfortable. I love the strap option but I only use it in a pinch.

Here’s a really really old and really grainy mod shot. Ignore the mess in the background.
Gorgeous color!

I didn't think that the Halzan (regular size) was for me, but after my SA showed it to me in person (after I mentioned that I was looking for an Hermes under-the-radar bag for travelling), I absolutely love it! I don't like to shop impulsively, so I would like to reflect on whether or not it is a wise purchase. I imagine that it is a good casual bag that will largely go unnoticed as a luxury bag. So, it now comes down to the most difficult decision, as with all expensive Hermes purchases... should I buy it and if yes, which color? For all of you that already own the Halzan, can I ask you to pretend you don't already own this bag and answer the following three questions:
1. Would you buy the Halzan again?
2. Is it a practical bag?
2. What color would you choose for best versatility?
Thank you so much!!!

I started with evies and still love and use them. But then I bought a Halzan 31 a few months ago and find that i turn more often to my Halzans than to my evies. I like that it can look like a completely different bag if u carry it top handle vs crossbody/shoulder. Also like the added security of the buckle so if i’m in a crowded situation I don’t have to worry about someone sticking their hand in my bag. The exterior pockets are great for cell phone, subway passes, etc so you don’t have to keep opening your bag. Even leaving the handles flopped over without buckling them is secure enough for most places I go to. Unbuckled, it is easy to get in and out of the bag even while walking. I’ve got a 31 and a mini so far and probably won’t stop at 2 . As to color, it really depends on your wardrobe and what colors you usually wear. Imo the Halzan is a functional and versatile bag.

Your details are very helpful! Do you happen to know the strap length for the mini halzan? Is it comfortable to wear cross body? Thanks!

The strap length of the mini is 47 1/2 inches which is 2 inches shorter than the 31 strap. It’s 3/4 inch wide for the mini vs 1 inch wide for the 31. I’m 5 ft 3 in tall. The 31 I can wear crossbody but I find the mini strap a tad short to wear crossbody.
