You are an absolute genius! I'm on page 38 of your thread. Just taking a break.
I am considering a preloved Vachee Natural Birkin. I just love saddle leather. I love how it ages, patinas etc. Would you consider this a work horse/ everyday bag after treated with obenaufs? Thanks so much for your time and knowledge!!

Sorry if this has been asked before and please point me in the right direction if it has. Is it possible to have scratches removed from Tadelakt leather with proper spa treatment? Many thanks for your help!

hi scratches never disappear but they often can be made to look less noticeable by spa treatment I hope this helps ?
Scratches with colorloss can be made to look better with pigment touch up as well.
All the best doc

How wonderful, I am so happy to hear you are enjoying the thread its been a labor of love
I love Vache natural leather and yes favorite my work horse bag is Vache Natural
I actually prefer Luxury Again weather & stain shield kit and
Luxury Again spa kit for unfinished leathers these kits have step by step and contain directions multiple types of premeasured product infused wipes which are easier to use .
these re the products I use in my shop each day.
While I like obenaufs and blackrock I find the level of satisfaction with the process of application and results vary too greatly between users.

Hi Doc
Would greatly appreciate your help on the cleaning of the interior of my VL Birkin. The corners of the bag from the inside look dusty and what seems to be mold building (?? not sure what it is and not sure what leather it is for the interior). Can you suggest what I can use to clean the interior?

I have also a BJ box Kelly which also needs cleaning on the inside. What can be used for the interior? (again, not sure what leather it is for the interior)

Pic attached for the VL.

Million thanks and hope you have recovered.

Dear Docride, hope you are recovering well, would just like to leave a quick question but no rush, only reply when you are ready for us again.

I had acquired a vintage box kelly(about 25 years old). Leather condition was very good so I just needed to do my routine home spa (Blackrock x2 then obeneuf x2 then Blackrock again). I guess I put too much on because the bag feels sticky and has lost some shine that it originally had.

So I let it sit for a week and kept on removing the extra Blackrock resurfacing in the past days. Now the stickiness is almost gone but there are some lint/dust that the bag sticks from the air. I read through your previous feeds about similar case and would like to check with you before I put anything else on the bag: do I use Lexol ph leather wipes to remove the dust and then Blackrock for polish again?

The idea of Blackrock again is a little intimidating for me as it has too much Blackrock to start with but you mentioned "likes dissolves likes" right?am I on the right track?
Many thanks Doc!

High Gylcerine based cleansers are nicer than harsh lye based ones..only use on very very diry bags one the leathers that can tollerate this is Togo. I like Lexol PH liquid..do not over do it just get a really nice sudsy soft cloth and do circular (small ones) movements do not press hard or get the bag saturated with water...lightly lift off the suds..and buff when dry... Make sure you have removed any heavy dirt /sand before hard or your end up scratching the bag..yep even TOGO can scratch...
I just bought a vintage 1992 Kelly and waiting to receive. Pictures show typical wear at corners plus at the base of one side of the handle the leather is wearing but not torn... yet. I have Lexol i have used on less expensive bags to clean and condition. Do you suggest trying it myself or taking it to a professional first? This is my first Hermes so nervous and anxious all at once.

Hi there
first I would clean with a leather cleaner I like luxury Again Cleansing Clothes best for cleaning but you can use lexol PH wipes also
and see if you have mold I suspect iys just lint and dirty unless it smells moldy or musty
you can use Luxury Again mold & mildew killer kit for the interior which is made for leather or you can use Lysol wipes carefully.
All the best

hi there, this is exactly the reason I came up with Luxury Again Care kits the other methods ive recommended were confusing and the amount to use vague so optimal results were not always the outcome
you can clean you bag now with a leather cleaner you;; want one which remove the excess waxes luxury Again cleanser works great or try actually I don't know of one which would work better in this case.but can try lexol ph wipes. Try a Luxury Again Spa kit that will get you sorted the one for vintage bags will give you everything you could need or want to sort out your gorgeous bag plus a good polish and brush and cloth.

I hope this helps, all the best, doc
