Thank you for you answer!
It is calf skin and it seems to be an "oiled" leather....
It scratches very easily but is semms to be a leather which has been "treated" before.
Sorry for my English.....
Here I send the link to a picture (although from a picture the right treatment might be hard to tell...):

In this case your best bet would be to use
Meltonian All Purpose Cleaner & Conditioner
This is a single product and it's found in a white bottle.

If I were you I would just buff the bag well in a cool room untill it's not or hardly showing color on your buffing cloth and then use a neutral polish to repolish and buff the bag again.

if you want to remove the old polish you can use a cleaner of some sort remeber that "like disolves like" so choose a emolient creamy waxy cleaner to remove old polish. (I am not familar with every brand intimately so use your judgement with the old "like disolves like" rule in mind. Transparent cream buame 1789 sounds like a conditioner not a polish so again use your judge ment and
ALWAYS TEST A SMALL HIDDEN AREA and wait to make sure you are going to be happy with the results of any product before working an entire panel.
Also keep in mind high pigment blue polish maybe helping to cover wear and color loss so you may need to repolish wth colored polsih when you remove the old polish...I hope this makes sense?

Yes, thank you soooooo much for everything, Docride! I will try to do my best =) It's good that vintage box Kelly also have box interiors, I can test everything on the inside, hehe.

This makes sense... it's weird though - it's only wrinkly when the bag is upright & empty & kind of leans in on itself. If I stuff it, it looks normal...
I'll do a good conditioning as you suggested

Curious - does H spa condition? I took my bag to my boutique earlier this year with the intent to have it conditioned & my SA said that it didn't need it yet ... but she said that because there were no scuffs/scratches.

i just got my bag from spa... i dont think they do much conditioning of the bag...

as i mentioned to the SA that i think my bag leather is quite dry... i request it to be moisturized or maybe condition when possible... the bag is back... and is still quite dry.. is similar to the pic of the leather that you posted... and i'm starting to look for blackrock leather condition as suggested by docride...

Hi Docride!
I just got my very 1st hermes, and it's a new-to-me Evelyne Epsom in Blue Jean Color.. while the overall condition of the bag is great, there's quite a lot of scuff marks on the leather pipping.. what can you suggest for me to treat it with? I heard i can bring my bag to an Hermes boutique for a spa, but i'm looking for alternative ways (i.e. less expensive way;))
here's some pics...

Conditioners will make the areas with color loss, go dark and look more noticable.
Matching colored polish Woly polish in Jean color is the best match (found in the UK and possibly on eBay) or custom mixed to match Tarrago Polishes could be used on your edges, matching colored polish application is what Hermes would do...however this will rub off and won't give you great coverage
You can try custom mixing to match some different colors of Tarrago color dyes and applying that to the areas of colorloss. You will need some blues, black and white or gray. you can find Tarrago color dyes at:

www.shoetreemarketplace.com

Or at other online sellers.
Good luck.

hi docride,

thanks so much for the advise! it got me excited that there's a solution to my bag's scuff marks!
so you would recommend the Woly polish over the Tarrago?
I googled, and i can't seem to find a color in"jean"
i saw this ebay seller and s he has quite a few blues..what would you recommend? :smile1:
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Hi again Doc :smile1:
so i was going through the thread and saw these two posts you had re: cleaning and the neutral tarrago polish...

since the bag that i recently acquired is already 6 yrs old and pre-owned, i was thinking of cleaning it too... is Lexol Ph wipes is okay with epsom leather?

Also, i think i will just order stuff from your recommended website (they have the lexol wipes), and will get the 'pastel blue' for the polish.. it looks close to blue jean.. im scared to mix and match diff polish, but if you suggest to go that route instead of the pastel blue, i will.. :smile1:

Yes Lexol Wipes are fine. Yes you will need to mix colors to make a prefect or near perfect match . It's not so easy to match Blue Jean even for a professional. Go with my earlier guidelines. Good luck.

I will donjust that, Doc! Thanks so much!!!
Very thankful with all the advice i get here from this thread! Thank you! Will post pocs of my diy project once i get to it!!

Will order the neutral tarrago as well to protect the bag from stain (color transfer) and water--is that safe? I'm just scared i might get the blue jean dirty..

Yes that's a good plan. You'll be fine;)

Lexol PH Leather wipes might be a good start , just follow the directions on the container.

Hi Doc! Thanks for the advice!

I gave that a try and saw a slight improvement, do you have any other suggestions to take out the dirt from the leather?

how often should i use the lexol wipes??

Also, do you recommend the Lexol leather conditioners to put on afterwards?

thanks in advance!:)

Hello!
Sorry if I've posted in the wrong place and/or being dense but I've tried to find a list of products that we should all have to regulalry care for our bags but can't - is there one or is it just a question of sifting through threads for the different leathers?
Many thanks!
PS, I need the products to be available in UK please :smile1:
