Is it possible to remove pen marks on the inside of a Hermes Birkin? Do I need to send it back to the shop for a spa (how much will that cost?) or is there something I can DIY at home? These are old pen marks on a 2009 vintage B. thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Doc! Thanks for the advice!

I gave that a try and saw a slight improvement, do you have any other suggestions to take out the dirt from the leather?

how often should i use the lexol wipes??

Also, do you recommend the Lexol leather conditioners to put on afterwards?

thanks in advance!:)

No just use what what I said if you think it's still dirt and it's not lifting it's probably after you do the cleaning it's most likely discoloration or gummy greasy dirt.

No I would not reccommend the other Lexol Products, only the Lexol PH wipes.

Do not get over agressive with cleaning you may loose finish/top color.
When cleaning dirt out from between the leather's grains it's important to get a sud up and you might want to gently use a soft brush in small circles, to lift out the dirt into the suds ..great care must be taken not to take the finish off and lose color. You will want to pat the leather surface dry with a soft cloth. You do not want to saturate your leather with water. Lexol PH will condition the leather as well a clean it.

Hello!
Sorry if I've posted in the wrong place and/or being dense but I've tried to find a list of products that we should all have to regulalry care for our bags but can't - is there one or is it just a question of sifting through threads for the different leathers?
Many thanks!
PS, I need the products to be available in UK please :smile1:

Not all leathers use the same products.

Sapphir and Woly products are avaible in the UK

You would need to be more specific with your concerns and leather type for me to narrow it down for you.

Hi again Doc :smile1:
so i was going through the thread and saw these two posts you had re: cleaning and the neutral tarrago polish...

since the bag that i recently acquired is already 6 yrs old and pre-owned, i was thinking of cleaning it too... is Lexol Ph wipes is okay with epsom leather?

Also, i think i will just order stuff from your recommended website (they have the lexol wipes), and will get the 'pastel blue' for the polish.. it looks close to blue jean.. im scared to mix and match diff polish, but if you suggest to go that route instead of the pastel blue, i will.. :smile1:

If you are scared send the bag to a professional ...otherwise do follow my directions, pastel blue will not work as a color match at all.

An Hermes spa will not work include working on your bag's intereior unless requested and generally they won't in anycase stating " it is private space"
Pen marks that have sat on leather for more than 24hrs usually can not be removed without an ink killer and then there will be a missing color there if sucessful. The area may be noticably lightened and would then need recolored to match. Services such as this are not performed by Hermes. I would sugest a trusted professional keeping in mind what you now know would be performed.

Oh OK Box (vintage), Swift (Kelly), Clemence (Lindy), Togo (Paris Bombay), Barenia and Alligator/Crocodile. I also have a Fonsbelle bag I thought was box leather but it feels finer and softer than my other vintage Box that has a patina. I will post a photo of the Fonsbelle in the Vintage bag thread.
Anyway there's nothing seriously wrong with any of the leathers, only normal scuffs/light scratches and a bit of dirt showing on the lighter colours at worst and that's why I feel the need to properly maintain them now rather than later.
Thank you so very much Docride!

Each of those leathers may require a completely different product and approch. Why not just post a question about a specific leather and /or problem? Or page through this thread and you may find the answers, ceratinly for Box Calf you can use a good celaner/conditioner from Saphir or Woly and touch up corners and colorloss with a matching colored polish by the same companies.
Swift shouldn't need anything but a cleaning if it gets dirty and colored polish on it's corners if they loose color. Barenia can be cared for with Hermes Saddle products although that can be tricky. Alligator I would leave to Hermes. Anyhow that's a start.

Thank you!! I will try the soft brush

Do you know how I can clean gummy greasy dirt ?

Am I able to fix discoloration on the handles and corners myself?

Thank u again for being so helpful! :smile1:

Many thanks Docride! I will research this thread and products. Would that be the same cleaner for Box and Swift? I am already loving the Swift more :D

Hi Docride;

Need your help on my new to me box calf burgundy Kelly backpack, there seem to have small discoloration spots all over the bag, what can I use to darken the spots and condition the leather? And any product to rain prove it?

image-1935030060.jpg

My clemence cobalt blue Kelly corners have some wear on one of the corners, is there any products to darken or color it? And any product to clean and condition it?

image-1169518437.jpg

The top leather cover of my Herbag are full of scratches from usage, is there any product to lessen the scratches appearance?

image-1479006257.jpg

I am located in Singapore, so I would most likely get products available through eBay any recommendations is truely appreciated.

Thanks

I do think that this sort of work will be too difficult for a novice seeing how this color s nearly impossible to match exactly even for a pro. I would say send this bag to a Hermes or a skilled and trusted professional for servicing.
