Are you looking to do color touch up with dye and then colored polish? Not sure I understand....
You will need a lint free cloth for applying polish and one for buffing.

I have a Bearn box leather wallet, that's lost quite a bit of colour. It's gone black in some places. I have Canadian Saphir and Renovating Cream in the hermes red matching my wallet original colour.

I have applied it once and it went sticky and I couldn't polish it because it was sticky. Can you please give me your advice and process to restore it. Thanks.

Do you think this bag can be helped? The two black streaks on the fold are made when the drawstring is used are the worst part. The strap is also grungy as well as the piping on the bottom

If so, how would you go about it?

Thanks.

Hi there, how about posting some photos? Typically when leather is discolored to black applying colored polsih over it will not cover the dark marks... let me see what you have there and I'll see how best to guide you. OK?

Hola Doc!

I bought this vintage Kelly and have a feeling it might have been one of yours. :amuse: Have wanted one that I can enjoy without worry. Can you please advise me what kind of leather is this and how I can condition it?

Hello, Your bag is made of Box Calf leather. There is lots of information here in this thread on caring for box calf leather including step by step instructions.:smile1:
Using a good neutral polish would be a good start.

Dear Docride,

I have a 4 year old Coromandel Chevre Birkin. Recently I noticed that the 2 sides of the bag, where the accordion pleats fold, have long vertical ( corresponding to the pleats) and horizontal permanent folds/ wrinkles. I am really rather worried about this.

Is it due to me over conditioning the leather with Blackrocks? How often is enough ?
Is it just that the Coromandel is a soft leather ?
Is it due to the bag being too dry ? I keep my Hermes bags in a dry cabinetbset at 55% humidity.
Can anything be done to restore it to its wrinkle-free former glory? Should I send it to the spa ?

Thank you so very much for answering my questions. It's really nice that there are kind souls like you around to help worry- worts like me ! So, many thanks in advance. :smile1:

Hello,
It's possible the bag has been over conditioned, but I can't see a photo nor touch your bag to confirm this...a small amount of blackrock should be enough to make a courchevel bag go floppy, how much hav you been using? additionally, if the bag has softened up and has been stored upright it could be relaxing downward hence the horizontal wrinkles. To my understanding a spa isn't going to address basic leather wrinlking from use and time. Can you empty your bag out, pull some stuffing inside to shape it properly and straighten out the wrinkling? If so then lay the bag on it's back when stored...see if this helps. It would help me to have a photo to make sure I am understanding your concerns.OK?
