My friend & I went in Feb. I'm size 34.5/35 and she's 39.5/40. Depends on which style you are looking for. I had some luck with heels; but my friend, not so much. She was looking at loafers, bouncing sneakers in various colours, and oran. Only managed to get a pair of Oran in 39.5. Selections in general were very limited back then. Not sure if it has improved since then. oh, and don't be fooled by the availability online. Those are straightly online & can't order it to be shipped to store for pick-up like in North America.
Thank you so much!

I might be visiting Japan in a few months. Do you have any stores you recommend. I would love to get a vintage bag from my birth year. Feel free to DM or ignore. TIA
A member very kindly compiled a list and reviews here albeit it's been over a decade. Feel free to read through the whole thread to find more, that is if you're visiting Tokyo but quite a few of them have branches around Japan anyway.

Hello! We are planning a trip to Tokyo later this year and I was wondering if anyone has experience with the availability of larger sizes of shoes at the boutiques? I usually wear 39 or 40. Thanks!
I’m in Tokyo now. Got an oasis s40, white at Hermes Maronouchi boutique. I asked for a bag yesterday, but I think their offers were off yesterday since there was an event and it needed the entire staff. I was offered apparently the last SLG yesterday, which was a Calvi coin purse+card holder combo yesterday in Sesame and I declined because I wasn’t looking for a card case.

I think I’ll go back to ask again at a much better time since I jived with two SAs there. We were exchanging laughs while talking. :)

Hello, sharing my B and K bag hunting experience in Japan, and while I did not end up getting one, I still ended up scoring a bag on my last attempt at the Hermes Omotesando boutique.

1. I went to almost all the boutiques in Tokyo: Maronouchi, Ginza, Omotesando. I skipped Shinjuku since someone posted here and said that it may have more of the RTW items, which I’m not really interested in at the moment. Forget Ginza. Way too many tourists and very, very slim chance of getting any bag.

2. Maronouchi may be a good choice because less tourists go there, but its close proximity to the Ginza boutique may mean that you may have a hard time scoring any bag since the ones who failed to score bags at the Ginza boutique will flock here. I asked if they had any bag and the SA who sold me Oasis said that they had a Picotin in the morning, but it was snapped up right away.

3. Maronouchi staff are lovely. I jived with them, but I really think there’s really no bag to offer. That, or maybe they didn’t offer me one even if there’s any lol.

4. Osaka. Hermes is located at Parco department store facing Midosuji boulevard. Zero bags as well. Didn‘t bother going back for a second try even if I was staying near it because there’s just way too many tourists in Osaka, therefore I think chances are even slimmer than Tokyo. I just feel that there are way more tourists in Osaka than Tokyo.

5. Kyoto. Hermes is in Takashimaya Kyoto. The boutique is being renovated and unless that is finished, I don’t think they will offer any QB bags since their temporary space is cramped. They have yummy colors for the Oasis and Orans though such as baby pink and violet.

6. Narita Airport. Beautiful bag showcase, but zero bags to offer LOL. Good color range for the Chypre sandals though; there’s black and white.

7. Hermes Omotesando. I went back to Tokyo after visiting the Kansai region before heading back home. This is where I scored a Lindy 26, Clemence leather, black leather, gold hardware, which is a popular combo altogether and the exact style that I wanted for this bag. PERFECT COMBO! I went early in the morning and got there at 11:15, 15 minutes after the boutique opened. Funny because this bag was on display and it had a ‘for display only’ sign and when I asked the SA if there’s any bag that I could buy for my birthday, she said, “you know what, I have one. Tell me what you think“ and she pulled the bag and presented it to me. There was a Gold/Gold combo too and I inquired about it too, but that one was truly just for display.

There’s also no line outside so I think it’s not really a popular location for tourists so I highly suggest start with your bag hunting here.

I wasn’t able to score a B or K, but I’m pretty happy with what I got because this is only the second Hermes item that I have ever purchased and it’s a bag. If ever I really have to do a pre- spend just to be offered a B or K, I don’t mind as long as I get to buy the items I want, which are bags or shoes. I’m not really into the idea of purchasing random H items just to be offered a bag. Not shaming people who do this, it’s just that it’s not me. :)

8. If you really want to score a bag, you really have to try and visit all the stores. Tourism is now in full swing in Japan so you’re competing not only with the locals, but with the tourists as well.

9. On another note, I am also thinking that it may be true that there are really no Bs or Ks available-for tourists. I saw this Tiktok video of a luxury content creator and he made a good point when he said that in high income capitals, QBs are normally offered to the locals rather than tourists because they will prioritize those who will most likely come back and purchase. Tourists are transiting individuals so they may not be a good investment, unless one makes a HUGE purchase during visit.

10. They say don’t ask for a bag right away. I never followed this LOL. Because I’m on the go and I had an itinerary. Besides, I didn’t want to spend my entire vacation just looking for a bag. I asked right away, but I was respectful and I always smiled at the SAs. Kindness truly goes a long way and you never really know, one might pull out something for you. ;) Also, I leveraged on the fact that it was my birthday month and I was looking for a nice birthday present.

11. Always go in the morning. Because I really think that it’s true what people said and that is stocks always come in the morning. Based on my experience, it’s true; got to a store a few minutes after opening and scored a bag.

12.And if you don’t get any bag, cheer up! It’s okay. :) You can always go to second hand shops in Japan and they sell plenty of Hermes bags. I know nothing beats the thrill of getting your bag straight from the boutique, but if you really, really want to bring a bag home, then the second hand shops are your best option.

That’s all! LMK if you have Qs. I’ll try my best to answer. :)

How long were the lines when opening at Ginza now? I love the store itself. I will be there for a month soon, hopefully it is not too busy.

Hi!

With my Ginza experience, I got there around 12NN. Boutique opens at 11am. I was expecting a line, but there wasn’t any. I think that the staff will avoid creating a line by the entrance since it’s directly facing a pathway and it will obstruct people who are passing through. You will be led inside and someone will assist you right away, but on the 4th floor, leather goods section, you have to queue. I waited for 20 mins. before I was served, which led me to the conclusion that there are way too many tourists who are flocking the Ginza boutique because I never had to wait in all the boutiques I went to.

I think with the recent shortage it is now not as easy to be offered B/ K in Japan, as noticed by many friends who travel there frequently from their homes in Asia. One very good Japanese friend tells me the trend as her BBF is an SA at Hermes JP. I have personally never bought any Hermes in Japan except for vintage bags, but was once offered a blue Doblis/Swift B30 at Ginza because I was there early and just looking. I declined it. Good Luck to anyone travelling soon.

Hi, any idea how do I make a reservation at the Ginza outlet’s cafe? I tried to search online but no info so unsure if they do not take reservations. Anyone been there can share how is the menu and is there a long queue? I randomly found a page which says reservation for Maison Ginza but not sure is this to book an appointment for a SA to help me with my purchases or is it for cafe reservation. The page doesn’t say anything.

Visited both boutiques in Tokyo Marunochi and Hermes Osaka, asked Constance Mini, no luck, which doesnt surprise me. Asked for ex-libris collection , got the same answer, seems like they have very limited stock, or just not for tourists, idk

Was in Tokyo last week & not able to get what’s on my wish list.
Drove pass Hermes Ginza & saw quite a line (about 15 people) at 10.20am before the store opens at 11am (Monday was a PH). So I proceeded to Hermes Omotesando store, was first in line before it opened (a short line was formed by that time); but no bags were available, my size for bracelet & belt were also not available. Visited Hermes Ginza later in the day, the store was very crowded with locals and tourists. There seemed to be a flip chart at a small info counter at the bag display area which shows what is available pictorially. The SA was busy with another client but I believed I saw a big-sized garden party & wallets that were available. Later in the week, I also visited Hermes at Isetan Shibuya and Hermes at Narita, no bags were available, nothing I wanted was in stock. Non-eventful overall

Hope its ok to discuss here. Why is amore vintage so marked up for bags in general (but esp hermes qbs) than other secondhand stores in the same area? like i saw stuff that 2x more expensive than what was at other stores... bizarre
I would imagine that they have better name recognition, especially with tourists. People shop where they know and then don’t necessarily know what prices are like in the local market with other options.

As a Japanese local, I hadn't heard abut this store. Looked up their website, and it looks like it's solely targeting tourists and foreign customers (was mostly in English, the Japanese page was absolutely the bare bones minimum). Don't think it's sketchy, but at that price point I would definitely look elsewhere. At least I would at least try to find a more major store which would still make the price more easy to rationalize (I would feel more safe buying from a major store safety wise).
