Another example of poor rude behaviors. Japanese is a very polite culture these least we can do as tourists is be respectful.

This rude behaviour of tourists is just disgraceful!! The Japanese SAs treat their customers as King and Queen!! Its been THE BEST shopping experience in my entire life. Even at times when I didnt spend a dime they still treat u like Royals. And always so helpful despite lack of their English.

Actually the vast selection of Bs and Ks at resellers can be very staggering and very eye opening. Sometimes I am amused not to see any tourist demanding a B or K there since, well... There are so many to pick from. Prices are of course higher but if one so desperately wants a bag then the price vs availability has to be a trade off. Meanwhile there's just so much more to japan than Hermes hunting, lots of beautiful scenery.

I was in Tokyo recently and totally in love with everything there. The Japanese are just the most polite people I've ever met. I whisked thru H, Takashimaya and the airport H as I was not really keen to end up with a possible 'skunky' item as souvenier. For once I don't feel intimidated by H SAs and they genuinely made me feel welcome with their bright smile and politeness even though I'm looking hagard after a whole day of sightseeing.
I was too preoccupied enjoying myself there and short of time to visit reseller. Upon my return, I booked another flights for coming autumn and will make more time to visit reseller too.

Totally agreed, their service standard is no where comparable in the world. I still remember how the SA will bother to carry your H goods down the lift and right to the door step of the store👍

Japanese service in general - be it at a restaurant a hotel at train station at malls etc are notches up vs anywhere else in the world. They are the gold standard. Hence, at Hermes you will also feel the SAs are generally nicer vs rest of world experience. Naturally when you ask for a B, K or Constance you are met with a polite but apologetic NO.

Hi ladies! I need advice and I need it asap please.. sorry :p

So my husband has a business trip to Tokyo on October for 2 weeks and I'm planning to go in search of a Birkin. HOWEVER.. now his October trip is not certain, and may be moved to December.

He'll have a 2-3days business trip to Tokyo this July and another 2-3days business trip again in August.

When do you think is the best time to go?
2-3 days July
2-3 days August
or
gamble October with December for a longer 2week trip?

He's booking his trips and he's asking me now when i want to go with him and honestly, i'm so confused!!

HELP PLEASE?

There is no best season or month to hunt for a B or K now in Tokyo. They even keep the Lindy, sometimes. Since you already know some of the resellers here, I suggest that as you go H hunting in Tokyo and if you see any of the resellers along the way, just go in and see if you find anything you like and buy it if the price is ok to you. HTH!

Thanks! I've actually been lurking around that thread for a while now.. still no clue which is best to do!

as the others have suggested. there is no "best time". stocks are available in random and impossible to predict. However, July is VERY HOT. August maybe a little better. and December is just so cold.

Nonetheless 2 weeks is enough time to visit all the stores and politely request to be notified of any premium items and hope for the best.
