I bought an SLG here in NY for someone who lives in Taipei. Will my relative be able to exchange for something else if they need to? And if so, at which store? Which store would have the most SLG's and cashmere/silk shawl stocks? Thanks!! p.s.: I forgot to get a gift receipt- is it okay to just give them my receipt?

All stores should be able to exchange it for you as long as your relative has the receipt, and exchange it within X days ( I am not sure about the exact exchange period, but i am guessing it is 7days)

I would say try Bellavita then Regent then Sogo.

They are quite strict about exchanges in Taiwan. I believe as long as it is current season and you have receipt, you may be able to exchange it. However, stock is so low... what else is there to exchange? :p

Regent store recently re-opened, they should have more stocks than other stores in Taipei.

Bellavita has zero twillies or any popular bags.

Regent store has re-opened with two levels, with the lower level dedicated to home furnishing, Hermes Maison, if you will... It is nice, but the selection is not very exciting, imho.

Oh wow...Well this relative might prefer a cashmere/silk shawl to the item I purchased....(I just couldn't find one I loved here)......are there low stocks in cashmere/silk shawls in Taipei? Thanks so much!

i can't tell you. stock is just low everywhere. so unless you can be sure they can do an exchange, let's hope that they love what you bought for them

I agree with ueynah. I am currently in Taipei and had been visiting the H stores every weekend (Bellavitta, Regent Galleria, Sogo) - cos I'm missing my H fix...
Haven't been able to satisfy it. The answer to any question I ask the SAs are "No" or "Sold out". And I am only asking about twillies and silks. There is nothing on the shelves in store except garden parties. There is a lot of homewares though. But it's not cheaper in Taiwan so no incentive to buy it over my local store which also stocks it.
I don't know if they are holding it out in the back for regular customers/super-VIPs...
The SA are also not very interested. I've given up visiting any stores and am eagerly waiting to return home to my local H store.
Perhaps it might be different if you are local and they will call you when stock arrives?
My friend says the stock goes really fast here which I have no idea about b/c everytime I visit each store they always have the same stock they had the week before. It's like they have a permanent range of floor stock which no one buys.
Regent Galleria and Bellavitta both have "display only" birkins. Regent Galleria had a huge hand-written "not for sale" sign on it as well (didn't look very classy and I burst out laughing when I saw it).

Thank you for the info. I guess if my relative prefers a shawl (as she told me after I bought the gift, then it will have to be her next present....) Thank you!!! p.s.: So surprised that Regent being a new store wouldn't have more inventory!
