My sister told me
A friend of her bought a ring for the wife and took it out of the country for the gst
They didn't even mention anything on the gst counter
On his way in they search every single piece of the baggage,found the ring and he paid for the gst and fine a got and big fat warning
Told him if he do it again they will report to the immigration office and cancel his visa

Yes, with fine jewellery, especially with diamond when the value significantly above threshold (900$), they definitely mark on the system, and search when come back without give you any hint of that happen.
My friend got fine for this one, and learned a very expensive lesson.

Yes, Hilton is a good choice. I often park there if I'm doing a quick pick up from H cos you can park there for about $10 for the first half hour. Just don't go over otherwise it will go back to the very expensive hourly CBD rates

Yes perfect size for my bags. I had an MM before it was ok on my B30 but found it overwhelming on a K32 even. So i knew would be too big on a K28
