My silky friends, I'm just back from the sale. I went at 10 and could not believe my eyes : nobody lining up outside! I was so shocked I asked the security guards, who too were amazed. The site has been changed, with a new place where you have the 90s, the 140, jerseys, mousselines, 70s and twillys, and the men RTW. At the usual place, boots and shoes, women RTW, sweaters, hats, and men ties and scarves.

I went straight on to 140 stand, and had there to line up something like 1/2h. Always the same : you come in 10 by 10 and have 15 mn left to make your choice. This is what I was able to see :

Jerseys : only Brides de Gala en Désordre maxi-pointes, no other design. 90 jerseys : mostly Kelly en Calèche, navy blue, purple, red.

Mousselines : Kelly en Perles mostly in grey, Ors Bleus d'Afrique red only, Flots du Cheval mainly in dark blue, one changeant brown/blue (which came home with me) and 2 or 3 red. One or two Chevaux de Karnak in the white/turquoise/purple. Some racoon collars with mousselines, too.

140 silk twill : La Fabrique des Rubans in all the cws,

140 DD : Brazil in all the cws,

CSGM : some ACSMC, only in dark blue, and mainly Parures des Maharadjas (orange, red, white and blue) Cavalcadour (khaki and navy blue), Camails in periwinkle and naturel brown, a ton of Guépards in all kinds of cws except light pink, Circuit 24 Faubourg in dark cws mainly, and Laboratoire du Temps in orange, dark blue and gray, Etendards & Bannières in khaki, dark red, brown with white border.

Everything was so quiet, even if the line was quicklly increasing that I went -first time ever- to the 90s stand. No line up at all !!! A lot of things among them plenty of Rêves d'Escargot, Coquilles, Cheval de Mer, Peinture Fraîche (one of them splendid, dark green and grey), Astrologie Nouvelle, Géométrie Crétoise, one sublime grey Vent Portant II the girl before me grabbed, sigh...

Then shoes, RTW and other accessories : a lot of boots, dresses and jackets, but with a very high caretag... I tried on a splendid croc jacket, initial price 75 000€ on sale for "only" 37 500, useless to say I didn't take it!

A fair bit of hats, but very few in my size, and a lot of gloves.

And at the end, near the cash register, the men's stand with ties and CSGM (Séquences I already have...)

Ladies if you're around and can hear me, go to the sale in the morning before Saturday. Once again, I never ever saw this place so quiet! And to sum up, I came back with a CSGM Cavalcadour in the khaki cw, a 140 mousseline changeante Flots du Cheval sable/azur/mauve/bleu, and a 90 jersey, Kellly en Calèche dark red. Half price as usual.

Well, I've been again this morning at opening time and there were no lines inside or out. It was-- I can't believe I'm saying this-- relaxed and enjoyable. I can't say I regret going the first day-- there were no CCaP cashmeres today, and I was very happy to get one of those-- but what a world of difference from Wednesday at opening. Anfang, thanks for your report from yesterday, which gave me the courage to go back after my harrowing Wednesday morning!

Thanks to both of you, I got my daughter out of bed and headed over this morning...it was so enjoyable! Calexandre, I'm so glad you went back, no lines at all, it was so strange to see all the ropes in place and no queue. We didn't go too crazy, one GM for me, (LdT in the navy which I wanted so badly in season but had to pass at the time), the green and grey peinture friache 90 for my daughter (and me ;)), and a lavender and grey 90 PdM as a gift for my Aunt. I'm so glad I got to experience at least one Paris sale and and such a pleasant one!

I'll be there next January for sure, Anfang! This January was my first sale and I'm hooked...but more than that, I fell totally in love with Paris and I hope to go twice a year starting in 2015!!

i would think the airport strike did some effects on the people traffic, I heard lots of London-Paris or short haul flights had been cancelled, they might also cause the low traffic at this sale.!

dharma, a huge bravo! I can see you did great! Isn't this Peinture Fraîche a killer? This sale session was so pleasant, I wish we could have same for next January! Fingers crossed!

Let me know when you're in town? It will be a pleasure to have you there and browse the sale with you!

That navy LdT is gorgeous-- congrats! Love the PF in those colors too-- I tried it on but it didn't love me back, alas; otherwise, we'd be twins on that one.

So you too saw this, calexandre? Bravo for returning! I couldn't see any CCàP yesterday. Did you catch something today??

It really was surreal-- I went through the GM section twice to make sure I didn't overlook anything, because hey, no one was there, so why not? Crazy-- in a good way, not the bad kind of crazy I encountered Wednesday. I ended up chatting with some of the salespeople who recognized me about the nuttiness we had seen in that first rush towards the counter.

I ended up getting another Flots mousseline (the emeraude/bordeaux changeant-- VERY dramatic), a spare Parures des Maharajas 90cm in the navy, lavender, and yellow colorway (I wear the one I have so often that I felt another was justifiable in the sale so that I can double them up on occasion, which might make up for the fact that none of the GM colorways in that pattern work on me). I also got a blue-on-blue Cheval du Mer 90cm. I wouldn't have looked twice at that design in the scarf drawer at a boutique, but I saw one of the saleswomen wind it around her neck to show it to another customer, and I was instantly struck by its simple elegance-- a perfect work scarf. The saleswoman saw me eyeing it, winked, whisked it off her neck and tossed it onto mine. Sold!

I was sorely tempted by the Clair du Lune Calvacadour, but managed to resist. I also saw that changeant Flots you got, Anfang-- it is spectacular in person, and I wish it had suited me! But two Flots are enough, so probably good that it didn't. :sweatdrop:

My dear calexandre, I'm so happy to hear you were so brave you went back! I can't wait to have a look on this changeant Flots in émeraude/bordeaux, never saw this one!! Would you be so kind as to post a pic? Regarding Cheval de Mer, I only found it in light green (which washes me out...) or in light pink, which, to me, doesn't suit the design this much... But blue on blue is a killer! You were so right grabbing this one! Clair de Lune Cavalcadour was not available when I was there (which is better as I grabbed it some monthes ago at full price, which I don't regret one minute) but I agree, this one is very special and not so easy to tie.

Major congrats on your loot my dear! I hope you enjoyed this sale! Waiting for your pics!

Anfang, here's a peek down my shopping bag-- but there are much better pics of the mousseline now posted over in the Clubhouse thread! They certainly are hard to photograph, aren't they? :smile1:

Okay, daft question. I've never been to the H sale and think I should - Where is the H sale held in Jan 2015,please? Appreciate the info. Also is homeware included in the sale?

Any information appreciated! Thank you!

The sale will take place as ever at Palais des Congrès Porte Maillot. Anx yes, you may find homeware there.

Tempted to book a trip. Do you know the dates? TIA!

Last year was Jan 15-18. You can't always predict when the sales start but it is usually the official first day of the French bi-annual sales I believe.

I went both last January and June (for the first times). January was crazy crowded but June was not for some reason (maybe the World Cup?). It's fun in a very perverse way but it's nice to save money on scarves especially with the price increases the past few years.

Fun and perverse: I can get with that! Thanks for the intel. :graucho:

H sale usually begins 7-10 days after start of France soldes.
France winter sales this year were January 8 to to Feb 11.
