Hermès Stores Status Thread

Tried the home ship from a “closed” / curbside only Boutique last week and it worked perfectly -
Frankly it was better than I thought it would be.
Not as fun as browsing Hermès treasures at a boutique, but it’s nice to know the home delivery is an interim option.
This option feels more strategic and focused, with less chance of an emotional impulse purchase.
Not all bad.
Random question...did they charge you a shipping fee?

I remember before stores closed in the US they were already relaxing their shipping policy (saw an SNS post of someone having her Kelly shipped across state because she was refraining from traveling). I wonder if it was a store decision or exception at that time, but now they have more general guidelines to allow shipping larger items / bags. I think it’s definitely a good idea!

Completely agree with you on the less impulse purchasing part! Rarely do I come out of my boutique with only what I went in thinking of buying...My wallet definitely likes this more focused format.

They didn’t in my case!

Hi everyone
My first thread start here and also new to the forum so please accept if this has been posted elsewhere. I tried to search the forum but couldn’t find the information I was looking for.

In light of the PMs announcement earlier in the week with us slowly coming out of lockdown with outdoor markets opening on the 1st of June and all retail opening on the 15th If they implement social distancing.

Does this mean that Hermes UK will open their doors on the 15th? Has anyone had any contact with their SAs yet? How does everyone feel about going out shopping from the 15th? How will the shopping experience in store be with social distancing? I’m guessing it will feel so much colder and less personal. Will they try to make sure store visits are kept as short as possible to avoid “prolonged exposure” if someone potentially carries the virus. Will we have to say bye bye to champagne and coffee? (Can you imagine shopping at Hermes without having a nice drink ?! Lol)

My SA in Sloane Street has been in contact and said the store will reopen in the 15th, they are going to come back to me on how it will operate. Wont be the usual Hermes experience but I only need an agenda refill and do do an exchange so will be a fly by visit to say hello, I won't browse as stock won't have changed much since the lock down started. Im waiting in CLF scarf but with no social occasions to wear it Im in no hurry

Harrods will also be opening on the 15th with social distancing measures in place. Not sure how that will work in the Hermes concession since there’s barely any spare space to move normally
