Happy New Year to all!!

How many of you often buy the same scarf pattern in different colorways? I am currently looking at the Blue and Cyclamen Costume de fête 01 and 03. They are both beautiful and I cannot decide! Three weeks ago, I got 2 scarves En Liberté (bleu azur and the aubergine one)... Just curious as to others are also doing that...!
If I lOVE the design, I buy multiple. For example, I bought 5 colors of les artisan, gifted 1 and kept 4.

Guilty as charged! Saves worry lines forming!

HERMÈS:-Shame on you-
I'm of two minds right now- happy that HERMÈS just dropped many new S/S 2023 scarves all at once online (after virtually no 90cm's since last August).....but very unhappy with 'Tea for Two'.

Is it a great design, and are PurseForum followers going nuts over the best cw (the black/red)- YES! Did Burton, or HERMÈS, ever consider giving credit where credit's due for TEA's design?- NO! It's a blatant ripoff of the amazing contraptions created by Rube Goldberg, whose first 'machine' was published in 1914.

The least that HERMÈS could have done was to call Burton's design 'an homage to the whimsical work of Rube Goldburg', but they didn't....crickets.

Anyway, I've already emailed them, but, as usual, I expect no reply.

Oh well... HAPPY NEW YEAR! ;-)

Here are mod shots for Le Carnaval des Animaux, CW09, bleu jean/vert/beige.

I also posted these mod shots in the Scarf of the Day thread. I find that this colorway has a lot of dark tones and pairs well with my winter wardrobe.

Bias fold with dark green top

Pale tan top with Fijian pearls

Asymmetric fold with brown sweater. This is the same color as the scarf hem.

Cowboy knot with Tahitian pearls and gray sweater

Golden brown top with scarf folded to show the elephant

A scarf that works with so many tops and necklaces is definitely a winner.

....All the time, because I collect HERMÈS 90cm scarves. The most different cw's of a single design?- 10 out of the 12 'Parures de Samourais'...but also a BIG handful with 5/6 cw's....;)

Your pearls are made for that scarf. Beautiful combo.

If I absolutely love the design. There is a scarfie on here that will do it for a loved design in both a light and a dark and that seems very reasonable. I currently have 12 90 designs in multiples. But in 2022 I had 19 designs in multiples, so I am getting better at whittling down to my fav cw.
We won’t get into the multiplies in twillies and gavroches. That number is 80% of them. H math I guess haha. They are cheaper

me too!! I bought 4 artisans and have one in the sell pile Haha. And I bought 4 of grand theatre but eventually got rid of 1.
So my thoughts @ladyblakeney on multiples is to buy them in the season when You can get them and then rehome later. Because I would love nothing more than to own tons of cw’s of my grails had I been purchasing H scarves then. But now after-market it’s impossible to be able to afford certain designs

I have done so on occcasion. Sometimes on purpose (usually twillies but some 90's) and sometimes accidentally i.e. years later forgotten and bought another CW via resale!

FedEx delivery came for me today too, earlier than expected! In addition to two new 90s from this season and a twilly, it also included two gifts - a cookie and scarf cards. Totally tickled! It's like Christmas all over again. The two scarves from this season - Brides et Destin (H003967Sv11) and Le Jardin des Peintres (H903908Sv02), the Annie Faivre double face. It is stunning! The more elegant side is actually a very pale blue. I tied it against several colors (wine, brown, plum, navy) and to my great surprise and absolute delight - the "party side" with the bright, somewhat garish colors looks fantastic! This scarf will be so fun to wear. The other scarf I'm on the fence about. It might be a little mature for me.

Le jardin is spectacular and so versatile in these colors. Looks stunning on you. I agree a bit on the other one but love the design and design idea. Perhaps it's the colors or try different ties.

Happy 2023 to all! FedEx in the US was busy yesterday! I got two of my scarves, with a third on the way. I wanted to post some detail of the cyclamen cw 03 of Costume de Fete. Though I adore the cyclamen color, the rest of the scarf doesn’t suit me or look good on me. I got caught up in the excitement, thank goodness I ordered cw 01 as well with the bright blue. And the cyclamen went with none of my bags (I love carrying bags that complement my scarves - don’t think I’m the only one here who does that)

I’ve been buying scarves for a decade now (yikes) and have gotten so much better at seeing them online and getting the cw’s I love and that will look good with my skin tone and bags and wardrobe. This was a rare mistake for me, as most of the scarf is brown, yellow, and other ”warmer” colors that I can’t wear and don’t prefer. The cyclamen blinded me to all else, and without it I wouldn’t have considered. I love brights pinks, purples, blues and black/grey/white - the cooler color spectrum. Here is the detail. HTH for any trying to decide which cw of this gorgeous scarf might suit.

Another reason to get multiple is in the unfortunate event of losing one, I still have another. I lost my Leila shawl a few years ago when out for Christmas shopping. When I saw it showed up again on the US site, I purchased 2 more.

It looks wonderful on you. I adore the beige hem and the prominent dark yellow sun. Fab with all your outfits and pearls.

Thank you so much for your post, @DrTr. What you stated would most certainly apply to me 100%. I have been torn about the most ideal cw of Costume de Fete for me, and now I know (at least) one will work. Cw 01 and perhaps even the vermillion/blue azur version, because it reminds me of the most splendid and unexpected bathroom I ever saw in a private home - a riot of bright red and brilliant turquoise with an Asian-inspired theme and ornate paper lanterns for lighting. The other pink/brown Costume de Fete with has quite a bit of brown and yellow in it, even though that particular pink (alone) would work quite well for me. I have also been considering the curry option of Costume de Fete (crazy, I know), due to its wonderful contrast against noir in that one, but that scarf will only work for me if the curry is truly "golden".

I will need to select a different scarf this season with cyclamen in it, because that color is perfect for me and, quite frankly, stunningly beautiful to my eyes.
Glad you have narrowed it down. Without being in the boutique looking directly at the scarf, sometimes it is so hard to tell. But after carefully looking at cw 01, I know it will suit. That bathroom you saw sounds lovely - how nice to recreate part of your love for it with a scarf similarly colored.

I adore that cyclamen as well! Now if H would just make bags in it, it would resolve my lack of good coordination with my current bags :P
