After purseonfleek's experience in Sydney, here is an article about a man who protested outside SKP Beijing Hermes shop.

According to his post on little red book, he spent more than 10-50K RMB (no specifics were given) and he could not even buy a Picotin. However his friend was able to guy a gold on gold picotin and that really upset him. That day, he went back to Hermes again and spent more than 10KRMB as the SA told him that there is a bag that he wanted but need his IC as part of transaction requirement. He went off to get his IC and came back later, and queued to go back into the store. Unfortunately when he went into to the store, he was told that there is no stock. He was so upset and decided to protest outside the shop.

The sign said, "Rubbish Hermes, spent money but no bag was given.

This sounds quite unfortunate... Guess he felt really scammed given that the SA told him there is something but was unable to deliver [mental note: tote your IC along HAHAHA], which was the last straw after seeing that his friend managed to get hold of one previously.

But definitely nothing new. I was just at Liat last Sunday to check if there was any picotin 18/ mini Evelyn/ mini Bolide, and was told nope no small bags. The SA serving me said I could leave my number and the specs I want, but I told her I recall doing so for nearly a year but there is no call since.

Her response was "maybe it was the specs..." and I looked skeptically at her and told her my preference was ANY COLOUR but black in GHW and it was just awkward silence from her HAHAHA. (Oh, how I love that discomfort and slight simmering tension there for that moment heh.) :graucho:

Before I left, there was a lady (likely a regular) who was opening a new box that holds a Picotin 18 with GHW. I merely looked to and fro that lady and my SA and just quietly exited. No need to make a fuss; case in point that when the SAs say "there is no bag", it does not mean no stocks, just no bag for you. Not complaining either, since my only spending there was just a few thousands on Petit H.

Seems like not having a fixed SA is a big disadvantage too, since no one really bothers to remember your preference nor can you remind that SA of your "presence". No loss for me though, cause nothing much fits me there (petite frame, size 34 feet; RTW looks hideous on me, almost nothing in footwear is made in 34), I don't fancy their fine jewelry and their leather jewelry in size T1 is limited (none of those pretty enamel bangles fit well sigh). I pop by just to see the scarves and try my luck with heritage leathers and special pieces like the recent marble silk twilly, which the boutique unlikely will offer to non-regulars so I'm better off turning to resellers/personal shoppers overseas.

That said, just go to the boutique at off-peak hours to enjoy the ambience and chat about the products/history, it's a very luxurious experience. (And check if the SAs have better product/history knowledge than you HAHAHAHA.)

oh dear, poor guy. can understand how frustrated he must be. Didn't know they need his IC as part of transaction, can't imagine how frustrating that can be. Is there a article on what happens next?

I think that SA is in a tight spot as the 3 exact specs for bags you requested (picotin 18/ mini Evelyn/ mini Bolide) are in high demand and to put a case to the SM she does need some purchase history. Alas Heritage leathers are hardly ordered (or push offers anyway) in SG, I assume you mean Box and smooth Barenia, so that’s tough to offer you and I can see that it is challenge to buy RTW or shoes. Unfortunately petit h is more a “nice to have” than a highly significant purchase category. I would suggest trying fine jewellery as that would help you and sizing won’t be as difficult perhaps. I agree that some SAs do not have as much product and brand history knowledge as we do, but the feedback is quite a few customers are simply not interested to learn anyway, some only want the quota bags and nothing else.
Anyway best of luck, I hope your bags find you soon.

I agree those few bags are in high demand bags so I adopt a "let's try my luck" attitude and see if I can be one of those rare no-purchase-history customer to get a Picotin 18/ mini Evelyn, since they are good to have and not a must have. (If I were of a larger built I sure won't be joining the mini hype/trend... Darn my size ARGH!) But yea, I don't ever feel pressured to up my game and purchase stuff just so I could accumulate a purchase history. I'll take a look at fine jewelry the next visit but so far from browsing global H.com and this forum... I'd say I prefer to customise my own pieces HAHAHA.

Thankfully I'm not after quota bags so I can really enjoy browsing and chat with the staff (if they entertain me, that is...)! Glad that I have met 3 SAs who actually do engage in interesting chats!

I tend to be attracted to whimsical designs/ prints and also heritage leathers, hence my Box constance and smooth Barenia pieces were not acquired through the boutique; way too tiresome to find items that are in stock that interest me to purchase in order to even score a chance at being offered. Even the quite-common "Couverture Nouvelle" Carre pocket pouch I had to get it overseas cause they don't stock the colourway I like.

But of course, I still do enjoy browsing, when there's hardly anyone in there. And I do so love their window displays!!!

Well I am similar to you in stature I think, I am Size 34/36, 5’1 and I wear shoes size 35/36. Buying H RTW and shoes is a super challenge so I don’t actually get much. I have never chased quota bags esp in SG where it is super competitive, but I am thankful my love for H Heritage leathers, homewares and shawls have lead to nice offers. Most of my quota bags are from my SAs in Europe where I am considered a local as I have lived there on and off. Although I no longer live in SG oddly many of my heritage bags are bought from boutiques in Asia. This includes offers of my smooth Barenia C18, BBK, BBB and 2 C18 in Box. So it can happen. Enjoy the ambiance, and best of luck.

OMG OMG Barenia C18!!! That's my dream bag! That and the Rouge H/Raisin Box GHW K25 are like the only ones I do ever want to own!!! You are so so so fortunate to get them!!

I like scarves and shawls!!! But doubt spending only on that will lead to anything HAHAHA. Oh well it's alright. I need to enjoy spending every cent, even if that is on a tiny item like a Bastia (which of course, I bought in Barenia...)

Hi all, when I dropped by the store yesterday, I was told by a male SA (not my usual SA) that I would need to wait for 6 months to purchase the next picotin as I recently purchased one. I thought the 6 months gap is only for quota bags?
I think this year is a bit unusual due to the high demand. So yes I have heard that for certain bags, likely the mini bags, they are limited to one per year.

A smooth Barenia Bastia would bring me more joy than the Croc/ Ostrich/ whatever quota bags offers I sometimes get. I totally get you.

i am team barenia too! haven't had the chance to own anything yet, but it is on top of my wishlist. SA said this is very rare, reserved for the VIPs/long time customers first. but one can continue to dream, right?:P

Hermes is all about dreams. Hopefully things in Heritage leather will show up more often. Like the Ebene B25 I was offered in Paris. It was smooth Barenia and very tempting but I declined it due to the colour. While Barenia is tough, it is actually easier to be offered Box bags in SG, as there is much less demand. The thing is to be the few names which come to the SM’s mind when a push offer bag arrives.

I can't find any article on the outcome of this episode. This is a luxurious shopping mall and the security guards probably threw him out very quickly.

This mall houses many brands’ best-performing point of sales worldwide, probably one of the top selling stores for Hermes too.

For the kelly sellier - yes it is harder than usual, for the kelly retourne - not so much. But for me, it is fine since the contents of my bag tends to be more secured. Also, I don’t tend to open and close my bag that often when using it unless I am sitting already so I don’t find it hassle. It was designed to be closed after all. For the strap, yes they’re a little thin but I don’t overstuff my bags so they don't tend to be heavy, so no complaints there and my Ks are size 25 so they’re okay. I’m not sure with the 28s and 32s though. But I have friends who carry K32s and K35s, they changes the strap to that of evelyne's to be more comfy. Hope this helps.
Thanks for sharing! I am split between a K25 or B30 for my first quota bag….not that I’ve been offered yet…:P

This has got me interested... maybe that box bag is worth accumulating purchases for... HAHAHA. Unfortunately, black box is the most common and the one I loathe oops. No offence to black lovers, but I prefer colours!

(Or maybe, just go to that reseller if a rare non-black box pops up haha. At an atrocious price usually. :crybaby:)

I tried on my friends’ and went to resellers to try on before deciding on type and size. Eventually I requested for B30 for my quota bag. Fingers crossed, still waiting.

It’ll be better for you to touch, try and know what type of bag will suit you before requesting for one :)
