This sounds quite unfortunate... Guess he felt really scammed given that the SA told him there is something but was unable to deliver [mental note: tote your IC along HAHAHA], which was the last straw after seeing that his friend managed to get hold of one previously.
But definitely nothing new. I was just at Liat last Sunday to check if there was any picotin 18/ mini Evelyn/ mini Bolide, and was told nope no small bags. The SA serving me said I could leave my number and the specs I want, but I told her I recall doing so for nearly a year but there is no call since.
Her response was "maybe it was the specs..." and I looked skeptically at her and told her my preference was
ANY COLOUR but black in GHW and it was just awkward silence from her HAHAHA. (Oh, how I love that discomfort and slight simmering tension there for that moment heh.)
Before I left, there was a lady (likely a regular) who was opening a new box that holds a Picotin 18 with GHW. I merely looked to and fro that lady and my SA and just quietly exited. No need to make a fuss; case in point that when the SAs say "there is no bag", it does not mean no stocks, just no bag for
you. Not complaining either, since my only spending there was just a few thousands on Petit H.
Seems like not having a fixed SA is a big disadvantage too, since no one really bothers to remember your preference nor can you remind that SA of your "presence". No loss for me though, cause nothing much fits me there (petite frame, size 34 feet; RTW looks hideous on me, almost nothing in footwear is made in 34), I don't fancy their fine jewelry and their leather jewelry in size T1 is limited (none of those pretty enamel bangles fit well sigh). I pop by just to see the scarves and try my luck with heritage leathers and special pieces like the recent marble silk twilly, which the boutique unlikely will offer to non-regulars so I'm better off turning to resellers/personal shoppers overseas.
That said, just go to the boutique at off-peak hours to enjoy the ambience and chat about the products/history, it's a very luxurious experience. (And check if the SAs have better product/history knowledge than you HAHAHAHA.)
