Hoping that H SG will really reward loyalty cos i don’t think it is possible to keep spending 1:1 or $16k x 2 times a year after awhile as there is really limited items to get

Agree. By the time you get your second quota bag, you have bought most, if not all, the things you want/like already. Then you’ll end up buying the same items or the ones you don't really want or need just to get your third bag.

I am just speaking for my personal experience/dilemma. Because after few years and few bags, there's nothing left for me to buy anymore to match the bags I still want to buy. lol

We definitely do hear of other people not having to purchase 1:1 but i don’t think that applies to SG. SG is really rigid and book by book. So would be good to hear from experienced TPFer who shops in SG H if after multiple quota bags or after multiple years will 1:1 still apply.

This is true and I've experienced this first hand but not in SG. In other countries, I've experienced various circumstances such as without purchase history, .5:1, 1:1, 1:1.5, 1:1.2. And after these offers, I honestly don't know what else to buy anymore. There seems to be nothing left for me to buy that I want.

The best I was offered by my lovely SA in Taka as a walk-in way back was 1:1. It would indeed be interesting to hear from other TPFer who shops in SG what the purchasing requirement be like after getting their first quota bag. I hope its gets easier. A girl can dream. lol

This is going to be unpopular but the question is, why do people need to collect so many bags? Maybe this is the 'trick' by Hermes to ensure that their bags are spread more evenly across customers?

Personally, I don't feel the "need" to collect. I've rejected several Bs, Ks and Cs already. I don't just buy whatever birkin or kelly that is being offered just because they are hard to come by. There are just specific bags or combination that I really want. The last bag I passed on in Taka was a B30 in Noir Epsom GHW.

I don’t think it’s the need to collect but more like you want one in every style. A kelly sellier, a mini k, a birkin 25... and when new design comes out you hope that they will keep you in consideration as well... If it is just for 1 bag then i think it’s obvious the reseller route will be better

Ya, collect might be too strong a word. I understand in a way the desire to have more bags as Hermes keep on coming with beautiful and irresistible colour and combinations. Even my husband is now well trained: he just quoted to me why a girl needs more than a Kelly and a Birkin  I reflect what I see here in Europe where a grand lady carries just one K or B in neutral and that’s that while in Asia, one can have all shades of the rainbow.

Love the word you used. "Desire" is more like it.

My own experience is that it gets much less than 1:1 after a while. In fact it wasn’t 1:1 when I first started anyway. Otherwise I can’t comment how it works. Maybe it’s been too long and it’s totally different now.

yes once i reached the quota, she asked me what's my dream bag. i gave her two choices (gold on gold / noir with rghw) as i couldn't decide lol. i am just letting fate decide for me haha. she do know i wanted a quota bag when i was spending (i took about 1.5 years) but i didn't drop hints about my specs throughout my 1.5 years.

during the one month of waiting, i collected two of my items that i have paid deposit for previously, and paid the balance. i also only got one twilly off the shelf.

but sadly i wasn't offered a rodeo to go with my bag when i collected it! hopefully my SA will provide me one when stock arrives.
Hi blacksquares,
Do you know if the spending during the 1 month of waiting is considered as spending for your first quota bag or (future) 2nd one?
