@newuser23

I'll just share my experience. I started building a more consistent profile in Aug22, developed a relationship with an SA I visited regularly (around once a month) with regular purchases across categories (small FJ, SLG, shoes, silks, cosmetics, toiletries, homeware). At my second visit, I was very upfront with my SA that I was definitely looking at getting a K/B but that I would only buy things I like. Note: this might not work for everyone but I felt that I could have such a direct conversation with my SA about it.

In Nov22 she had asked if I would consider a C but I rejected that and said I would hold out for a K/B. By Dec22 she told me she was going to put me up for approval for either a K25/28.

Unfortunately my SA retired in Jan/Feb but handed over my account to another SA who told me in Mar that the SM had approved the request. Now I'm just waiting cos I had bought a TPM from a different store thinking they wouldn't apply the cooling off period (I was wrong so was told would be delayed by 3 months subject to whether a QB of similarly requested specs comes in). Technically I should be out of the cooling period by now but have not yet asked my "new" SA about whether it's ready yet.

My pre-spend at the point when my previous SA submitted my request was just slightly over 1:1. In terms of my relationships with both SAs at this particular boutique, I would say average visit time was usually about 1-1.5hrs and a lot of it would be seated conversations or in quieter areas of the boutique. They never tried to hard sell anything to me and have actually told me to stop purchasing until my QB has arrived. Also because I was pregnant during that period, they actually kind of refused to sell me RTW as they were worried I wouldn't be able to wear them after delivery and suggested I not purchase any RTW until way after.

In other parts of the world, at least from my experience, that would have been a normal leather QB offer already. If you’re spending in one go. Like one trip.
In SG stores, not likely. Its not actually weird, prespend just varies among stores and countries. I know of some countries and cities whose norm is to offer qb to their locals only after 2-3:1 or higher, some even require strict prespend for non qbs.

It depends also on the bag/specs you are asking. A size K25/B25 in retourne is $15.9k while a K25 sellier is $17K, so $20K is just roughly 1.2 to 1.25
Correct. But I asked for a k25 sellier in craie. So that’s says a lot. Anyway all these is dependent on ur individual rs with ur store and SA. Everyone’s journey is different. Really can’t compare. P sure there are people getting 1:1 or less just not sharing cause they are super vvips

Exactly. Everything is dependent on one’s personal history and own profile. 20K for a K25 sellier which is 17K is only 1.17-1, thats just little over 1:1 unless what your SA means of a little over 1:1 is just an additional hundred dollars.

I am sure its 17K because I just bought a K25 craie sellier GHW last Feb.

Yes I would like to share that in some Asian countries (not the big cities), they have ready bags for you at 3x. Some even says strictly rtw only.

Hello all! I’m new to the brand and looking to buy a gp! Not much luck so far so I’m thinking of tagging along a friend who shops at Hermes to see if I can get one but not sure if she will mind. Just wanted to check with seasoned shoppers if there is any social etiquette that I should be aware of? Don’t really want to look like a free rider but I really do want the bag!!

Let your friend know beforehand that you are looking for a GP and if she will mind you tagging along. Technically it doesn’t matter to her because you will buy the bag (if available) under your own profile. But if she is also looking to buy the same bag, l will not go with her as it will be competing for the same item.

I would say please ask your friend clearly first if you can tag along and let her know why. Her SA might not be ok with that either, as appointments are now mainly for only one particular customer and perhaps spouse/ partner. This is the same at stores I am familiar with and shop at in SG, BKK, London and Paris.
I think the better option is ask if you may be introduced to her SA and you take it from there separately. I suggest you begin your own relationship at the store and then no one is put out too much. Even then I would say only ask if she is a very good friend.
The best option is to go in yourself and see if you click with an SA, not necessarily your friend's. I do not think it's that difficult to be offered a GP.
(Sorry to be repetitive, I posted almost simultaneously to the above)
Good luck!!

Agree with all of this. Better to cultivate your own relationship with your own sa.

I think this would be very rare in a US flagship where many regular clients spend far more than +1X per visit without any such expectations. I don’t think prespend matters at all at FSH, but I can of course only speak as to my personal experience in NY, Paris, and a tiny bit at Liat and Makati.

@charminghorse . If you want to ask your friend, I would suggest simply saying that you might like to visit H to see if you can find an SA there that is the right fit for you. That way, no one is put on the spot. There is no guarantee that you will even like her SA as much as another one whom you have not yet met.

My friends and I sometimes shop together at the same time, but we all have our own SA. Everyone is different. . . While I have asked for introductions and I have given introductions, I wait to check first with my SA, and I do my own vetting. Bc a busy SA lacks the bandwidth for new clients and tends to think that a reasonable and pleasant prospective client, even in this competitive shopping climate, should have no trouble finding help. Just bc I am friends with someone does not mean I think they would be a good fit as a client. I have also never asked for an introduction with any bag purchase goal even remotely in mind.

Singapore is a bit weird when it comes to QB. I computed my recent purchase in one trip and could have been 1:1 for a regular QB, and what I was offered was a non-qouta mini bag. sad!
Singapore stores are not weird, they operate on a fairer system which rightly prioritises locals and longtime established regular customers. Except for one store I know of, bag offers after a one time spend even if rather significant, has been rare even pre-pandemic. In this current situation a quota bag offer even at 2:1 ratio is highly unlikely, even if the customer is known to the store, especially if newer or tourist. I would say it was at least something to be offered a mini bag, even if it was a non-quota one.
