Happy new year ladies! I wanted to pop in to thank those of you who helped me figure out where to shop in Singapore.
I visited both Liat, where I bought a sweater (near my moms new place; she hasn’t moved in yet) and MBS where DH bought a sports jacket (near my hotel). SAs were very kind and welcoming bc I made it clear that I was only looking to fill in pieces of random available RTW, and I already have a local US and FSH SA for leather. Thank you again

forgot to add that I searched the forum for Singapore Hotels close to the various H locations, and I couldn’t find a specific post, or a summary of the H branches, so I am adding below in case it helps others (as a newcomer, i would welcome correction in case I am in error). I hope it is okay to post this here

Liat (and takashimaya) are close to the Four Seasons; Hilton; St Regis; and Tanglin Club. Though the flagship, Liat has more of a laid back vibe IMO. Short ride to Como Dempsey (Candlenut and Culina). I hit it off with an SA there, and I will probably return to him the few times a year that I end up back in Singapore. The vibe seemed to be more like meatpacking in NY than Madison Ave, but that was just my impression.

Taskashimaya H seems to have more of a lux mall Orchard st vibe. Also seems to have more lines, perhaps bc it’s in Takashimaya, and also close to Imperial Treasure etc. Chanel has a virtual queue, so I think it’s hard to schedule shopping H and chanel without appt, unless you do not mind waiting. I think the bookstore is here. To be honest, I didn’t feel like waiting since I was happy with my Liat and MBS experiences.

MBS (financial district) is close (7 minutes walking) to the Fullerton Bay Hotel; Fullerton Hotel; and Raffles, and there seems to be a lux glitzy tourist or expat atmosphere to the MBS mall in general. The SA was also very nice here, but I didn’t get the same sense of rapport despite buying a more expensive item. I have no sense of direction, so if you are at the concierge desk, go down the escalator to B2 and then walk past Zara, past the water feature, bridge, casino, and gondola, to get to H. Half an hour after H opens on a weekday morning, a line forms. The entire mall was overwhelming to me, but there is a Din Tai Fong. If someone adores bucellati, the branch in MBS seems much larger than Madison Avenue.

ETA: Liat has a black box calvi available if anyone is looking

Also, i always establish a profile using DHs info. I assumed that my purchases, including three QBs from 2022 (NY and FSH) would pop up, but they did not.
Wow being a tourist you definitely give very good insights to people who may be visiting!! I havent gone back to SG since 2019 and looking forward to visiting these stores in 2 months when I head back for a long awaited vacation (dreading the humidity though) I have booked a few days to stay at the Hilton (did book VOCO ex Hilton which was nearest to Liat but preferred Hilton)...Ding Tai Fung is one place I cannot wait to just dig in and fill my happy tummy!! I would prob visit Liat first as MBS are usually frequented by tourists and wow a queue before it even opens...and TBH H in SG is more expensive in some categories from where Im living (AU) due to the higher luxury tax so I will prob browse more than buy (stock is prob scarce anyway).

It's awesome that you will visit SG more coz of your mum now living there. Did you manage to check out the H stores at the airport?

Omg! Can you please share more on how you got it? Like the waiting time, pre spend and specs? Thanks!!
Not entirely sure how long I waited but roughly 8-10 months since getting asked my wishlist. Sorry I don’t keep track of these things. Pre-spend I don’t count also because I spend on what I like but definitely way above 1:1 would be my guess.

I was offered black Epsom mini Kelly in ghw.

Thank you @MiniBag and @Mapoon, I hope you have good luck when you go. I really am only interested in RTW that I have not seen in my home store or FSH, and I only buy if I like the SA.

But, if it helps newbies or tourists, this is how I meet an SA. If I am buying stuff, and if I think I will want to go back another time, I simply ask what days they are working that week, or when their day off is bc I’d like to return. Thats bc my first purchase is usually impulse, and I may not have time to really shop.

At that point, they are of course free to make excuses if they’d rather not help, but hasn’t happened yet. They tell me what days are good for their schedule and to contact them. At MBS, I had told the SA originally that I was just browsing, and that I had already shopped Liat.

But, I had to return bc I disnt have my passport, and so the MBS SA made sure she knew my name (not just DH who is always my acct holder). She suggested that just ask for her by name when I’m next in the area.

But, again, this is an easy sale for them; I’m not asking for out of stock items or leather, and I’m a common size.

ETA: I’m also fully transparent re my local or regular stores. Apologies for the length of reply :)

Long time reader, first time posting :)

I'm also living in AU but recently went back to SG to visit family. I was at MBS on a weekday afternoon and decided to pop into the store - there was no queue when I was there. Wanted to show my husband a scarf that I was thinking of framing but they had no stock. Had a browse around the store but I wasn't looking for anything in particular anyway.

Checked out the store in Changi T1 before our flight and they actually had the scarf I wanted in a few different colourways. Duty free price was SGD$750, more expensive than in AUD given the exchange rate. The SA was like, as you know with Hermes sometimes stock is not easy to come by. Oh of course we know haha! But I wasn't 100% sure so didn't get it (hopefully won't regret).

Enjoy your trip!

Thank you so much for the tips!! Yes I will prefer to visit these places (or shopping in general) on a weekday but sometimes with tourists the crowd can be unpredictable as well. Im so glad you managed to find what you wanted at the airport and ooo you didnt get it :amazed: Indeed with stock (even here) is so unpredictable and if you are lucky you get what you want at the right time. I will not be heading to T1 as my flights (SQ) should be arriving / departing from either T2 or T3 (apart from visiting Jewel on a separate day).

Indeed some items in H SG are more pricey than AU (esp leather bracelets) so I plan to check out some of the resellers to have a look (apart from Twillys and also Petit H online as AU will not be doing anymore Petit H due to bad sales) Definitely counting down to see family and have a break as it's been tooo long since the pandemic. I hope you had a wonderful time back home nevertheless!

Hi everyone, this thread has been such a wealth of information and have really enjoyed reading it so much! :) I just started on my H journey a few months back and all the information here has been super helpful!

I always thought the probability of ever getting a QB from a store would be zero because I am not a big spender and never had an SA. My husband and I would just pop into the store randomly when there is no queue and buy random things that we like. It just so happened a few months ago when we were in one of the stores we happened to be served by a nice SA, and after buying a pair of shoes I asked her if the lindy is a QB and possible to get, and she asked us if we had an SA and if we didn't it would be easier to get a bag with one and she offered to be our SA. Since then I have texted her whenever we want to go down to the store, and we spend on average 2k per visit every month on things that we really want and like - to date have spent about 10k over 3-4 months. She has been nice in general but is not super friendly, and when I ask about certain items (for example a belt) she would say they are not in stock and never offers to request it - sometimes I ask if I can order/request it and she will just say it is tough to. In the past when I have walked into the store randomly with no SA and asked about items random SAs have said they will request it under my profile. My question is - is the relationship still new and over time as I build it up she should be more willing to request or reserve items for me? Or in general does she sound like not a super helpful or friendly SA and should I think about changing SA? And if so how do you even go about changing SA in the same store because wouldn't that be a bit sensitive to bring up?
I could also be overthinking this and please feel to let me know if I am, greatly appreciate any and all advice :)

Hey! Could you share if you did prespending for the mini lindy? No worries if you prefer not to!
Apologies for the late reply! Mini lindy @ Airport I spent about 18k. I was very direct to the SA as I was rushing, she had 3 colours for me to choose and mentioned that at least 1.5-2:1 prespend would be necessary. I tried to hit 20k but really couldn't find any stuff that I really liked. Hope this helps!

This recent increase seems to be far greater (in %) as compared to previous years...some wishlist items seem to magically appear a few days after the PI...very smart tactic.
Yes!

I used this thread to track the increments, bags on average increased 8-13% with popular ones going upwards of 20%. And you are right, since the increment there is higher chance of getting non-qb bags. Apart from the mini lindy from airport, I managed to bag 1 picotin & 1 24/24 online, 1 lindy 26 from boutique in 2023 alone.

Thanks for sharing the details! I hope you were able to get the color you like since there was such a hefty prespend.

I think the fact that she offered to be your SA in the first place is a good sign! Usually SAs have back to back appointments, it also depends on the item that you are looking for. Imo, if the item is rarely instock or reserved for high spenders, SAs might not be able to prioritise newer clients. Even if a request is placed, the chances of getting it is slim so they'd rather wait for restock and inform you subsequently. Try visiting more frequently and buy small ticket items, establish a relationship, talk about trips, kids whatever that could gain rapport so your SA is more like a friend, and you gain a good impression.

Just like at work, if a particular co-worker is very nice, or click better you'll help them over other colleagues that you seldom speak to. Of course if a superior (I.e. High spender) request for assistance you will have to prioritise them. Be a little patience and try to establish a good relationship!

Thanks for sharing!! Wow 1.5-2:1!! Was there items to buy at airport? I remember they didn’t had much when I was there last year so I couldn’t even do pre-spending...
