So nice of your SA, I wish mine would allow me to rollover too as I certainly did overspend. I wonder if it is because of my spending behaviour (I would spend several thousands at one go and it only took me two visits to hit the required prespend). Perhaps my SA could tell I can afford to overspend and hence not allow me to rollover? I’m eager to get my first QB hence I was focussed on hitting the prespend asap. May I ask is that how you spend also or you would spend 1-2k slowly over many visits to hit the prespend? I wonder if our spending behaviour affects how SA treats us, hmm.
I’m a facts/stats based person so I’m going to try to explain it in my own way. Say an SA works 5 days a week and 8hrs each shift (7hrs if you minus lunch break). So in 7hrs maybe can have 5-6 appts lasting one hour each and for the remaining time, he/she has got to help take walk-in customers.
So if you’re an SA, how would you allocate your time according to (1) your new and old customers as well as (2) those who can spend big vs those who can just spend 1-2K each visit? Bear in mind that SAs have sales quotas to meet and now, clients can’t place deposits anymore.
If I’m an SA, I’ll definitely test my new customers to see who I wanna “keep” vis-a-vis my older clients and suss out who is only after QBs but can’t really embody what H is looking for in choice clients.
So to answer your qn, yes how you spend definitely affects how your SA treats you. If you can afford to overspend, just go ahead. Why would your SA stop you? Any non-bag items you buy is all commission for them! But bottomline advice to all the newbies is, please buy what you love and if you’re really after QBs only, then go the reseller route coz it’s faster and cheaper for you.
I’m not saying this because I’m belittling those with lesser spending power. I’m pointing out the reality. It’s like how some Singaporean parents rent condos near branded schools so their kids can get in. Then when all the other kids are off to Aspen for ski holidays, they go on cruise. Imagine the stress their kid go through in school compared to their other classmates when they realise that their lived experience are so different?!?
So same thing, some of us normal beings aspire to be a H customer. Then some start having unreasonable demands of their SAs and demand for XXXYYYY. But remember what I explained about an SA’s time in para 1? What do you think the SAs’ response will be?
I’ve a feeling that I’m going to get a lot of backlash from this post but so be it. I can play bad cop today. And I’m not paid by H as some keyboard warrior ah. It’s just that oft lately, the posts have been getting a bit fiery. I’m just trying to explain things from an SA’s perspective.
