Date of issue for Provenance, Hugo Grygkar?

Provenance
by Grygkar is one of those scarves without a title, which can make info hard to track down. If one excludes the 2005/2006 re-issue (when it was retitled Paris Qui Roule), everywhere I see only one issue mentioned. Some have this as 1951, others 1956.

I have however seen the title-free scarf in at least two iterations - one with Hermès Paris © placed in the omnibus (below the calèche that has just run over a little dog!) and one with just Hermès Paris, no copyright symbol. I'm assuming the latter is the original, pre-copyright issue. Does anyone know the exact date of issue? And any idea of the date of re-issue, with copyright symbol?

I believe that the 1951 date is correct.
And yes, the latter is the original pre-copyright.

Thank you, Seton. Do you happen to know the year of the untitled issue avec copyright?
It has a care tag like this, which suggests to me some point in the 70s maybe?

This was given to me as a hand-me-down. I'm familiar with the design and artist, but I've never seen this colorway before. The size is 45cm pochette. I'm just curious if anyone could provide some insight about when it was issued. Thanks!

Pani has been done MANY times in 45cm. Too many for me to keep track, sorry.

Hello ladies! I'm not sure if this is the best place to post, but I have a question re plissé scarves. Firstly, I've never owned one, and never seen one in a boutique either, and reading other TPF threads they seem to cause a love/hate reaction - why? Secondly, are they frequently faked or are they similar to jacquard in that the fakers haven't managed it (yet!)?

I would be interested to hear your thoughts :-)

I can speak from my experience by saying that I have seen them go in and out of fashion. I think its just a matter of the trends right now. I think that they also tend to be a bit more intimidating - A lot of women just aren't sure how to tie them. You also loose the design in the fold and they typically cost more.

I've never seen a fake plisse (others might know better than me). Could be because there isn't much of a demand or the quality issues and cost.

Fake plissés do exist. I had the misfortune to buy one off fleabay, fortunately the seller refunded.

You do have to be careful with them so the pleats don't fall out, so whereas regular silks can take a fair bit of abuse, plissés can't.

Thanks! I've been thinking of buying one but I prefer to do my research first, and generally buy from a boutique to be sure of getting the real thing but none of the stores I use seem to have any...

Thanks for the tip; while I take good care of things - especially those which cost a lot of money, I wear and enjoy my silks so perhaps a plisse isn't for me after all...
