What pieces of RTW have the best cost per wear for you?

I am trying to buy only pieces that are easy to style, not hard to maintain, and that are somewhat "timeless" so I can manage my cost per wear effectively. I have narrowed down my list to these two:

- classic H cashmere coat in black or dark grey (https://www.hermes.com/fr/fr/product/manteau-inspiration-peignoir-H4H0100DA0232), am a little worried it won't become a part of my daily outfit as it's too delicate. Can anyone share how it wears?

- Mosaique pants in black (https://www.hermes.com/fr/fr/product/pantalon-motif-mosaique-H4H0401DC0234). I am somewhat worried about the pattern and how easy /difficult it is going to be to style. I generally do not wear patterns /prints, so Mosaique pants would rather be an exception as I like the cut. I am a little unsure how prominent the pattern would look if I were to wear these as casual work pants vs as a part of my dinner/lunch outfit.

I have two of some version of the peignoir coats (one is like a beige with wooden buttons, other is a rouge something, more like a burgundy, not rouge H though) and they both piled immediately, within 3 months of first wear. The darker one shows less, the lighter one makes me look like a rag doll now with the piling. If you get it, get the darkest one available.

Wow, sorry to hear that 😮 I read earlier that H cashmere coats do not peel. 3 months definitely sounds alarming, I’ve got an ancient Burberry cashmere coat (from Christopher Bailey’s times) and it still looks brand new.
Did your SA comment on what had happened with your coats ?

Hermes cashmere coats/jacket do pill unfortunately. After having one or two coats that pill, one makes a decision to
wear it regardless or pass. It's strictly a personal feeling..
The H coats are always beautiful with great detail, but for many it is hit or miss with pilling, JMO

I have a pretty thick Burberry cardigan and it started to peel after 6 months but I was wearing it almost every day. I started to purchase some H RTW only a year or two ago. And I buy 1-2 pieces a year to slowly build wardrobe. I have a cotton dress and shorts that hold really well. I can def justify cost per wear. For a silk tunic that I wear as a dress in summer I got a lot of snags but because it has a busy pattern it’s not very noticeable. I just ordered a sweater so I’ll see how it survive upcoming winter but I decided to give it a try because price is not crazy so I can see how peeling goes and decide if I purchase something wool or cashmere in future at such price. I tried it at store size 36 but it was little big in chest and shoulders so SA ordered 34 from different store for me with shipping to home. Hopefully it won’t be too tight. Overall knowing myself I only choose to buy pieces that don’t require extra care like silk. For me H RTW made of cotton is a safe bet. I wish I were more graceful—then maybe I could wear silk without snagging it all the timeIMG_2886.webpIMG_2887.webp

I would be pretty much frustrated with high maintenance given the price point. But the way brand new coats look in the store is very appealing I admit :)

I love that cropped sweater! That zipper makes it look so elegant! I am also looking to slowly build my collection, hence trying to be very conscious when I make my purchasing decisions. I got this wool sweater in Bleu Payne a few months ago and no peeling so far. But I was not able to actively wear it.

That color is lovely!! And it fits you perfectly. I haven’t seen this neither at store nor online. Would you say it’s true to size? I’d order it if it still be at stock in few months. H sizing is very weird. My dress is 36 but pullover 34. I
