Agree. Sadly there are some specialty coats that were never made in more than one size. And, Madison traditionally as per a few SAs I’ve spoken to, preferred to buy certain silhouettes, sizes, and styles that were guaranteed to sell.

In terms of this collection, I went to my appt today. Here are some of the things I tried on. The cool fringe dress didnt have any side or back zip, or any way to get it on except over my head. Pass. The zip cardigan was a solid YES, but. And, was the one thing that everyone adored (DH picked it out) 3250USD

I did love the mixed media waxed leather trim rouge H skirt, but I don’t have the lifestyle even in my imagination for a 10,600 USD one 😂 Last season there was a matching jacket 12K which was too tight on me, and I don’t have a particularly large chest. I wish Hermes could bring coordinating pieces in at the same time.

The two jackets (navy cashmere two pocket and white — I think cotton with gold leather zip tab — below ran large and my SA and DH thought were too boxy).* I loved the turtleneck, but it was synthetic and apparently bunched up weirdly when I moved :(

Sadly the size 38 shearling did not work on me. And, my SA and SM thought it was honestly too much coat for my height and build. It pouched out below the high zip and was bulky below bc of three fasteners (one of which was broken, so I didn’t even try to close it). Am Awaiting price (I was erroneously told 17K USD but think it’s too low given other prices). It ran big. my SA is still bringing in the 36 for me, but I think I’d prefer a more classic, flattering cut for a shearling

I love the cropped pants except for the fact that they are too cropped on me, and I’m a shortie. I just have too many cropped pants in my closet already. I just pulled them to try with the tops (the pants are size 34 and too snug; they run TTS and I fit into a 36 in this style).

The plain Gris carbone jeans and plain jacket did not come in yet, but the store ordered a lot. My SA thinks I will be a 36 (I’m a size 36 Chanel; 4-6 US for comparison)

HTH
ETA : I only bought the zip cardigan today. But, my extra oxymore champagne flutes have arrived, so everyone was happy

ETA: *Added close up of the turtleneck and boxy jackets (navy cashmere and white with leather zip tab visible). I don’t have prices

I also tried on a round neck cashmere pullover with ruffled sleeves but the sleeves were way too long

@jbeans , @Bdbunny , the denim leather jacket, perforated ghilly detail was there on the mannequin. Egregious 17K USD. My SA said that the size 38 looked large but I did not ask to try. I believe the 36 is coming soon

Thank you @Chrismin
I loved it too and am still thinking about it. If you could wear it enough, I would recommend. But, a caveat, I have a thick waist relative to my size, and I’m honestly not sure I could sit or eat ;) in other words, no guarantee it will fit after lunch 😂

Had the matching bomber from last season been remotely flattering, I would have bought that. Bc it could have been worn with jeans.

@haute okole , @Bdbunny , I hope you both consider the pencil skirt. It would look amazing on you both, and I have a feeling that you guys would have better cost per wear :)

hugs

ETA: I did a search in my album. The bomber jacket and skirt first appeared at the resee in March 2024. The jacket got to the store in Nov 2024, but no one reminded me of the skirt. It wasn’t comfy or soft, and it kind of squished me. It also visually squared me off in the torso and waist. I ended up buying the studded long black leather coat to the left of the bomber which I didn’t even look at originally which is how these things work sometimes. (The latter was 30% less costly at FSH than in the US, and my local SA did not fault my logic in buying it there)

While I was enamored of the waxed material, neither my SA nor DH liked it. But, it’s also the fact that I don’t want to wait over a year for an item that I had forgotten about (therefore, failing to leave room in the budget lol 😂)

ETA: I unfortunately don’t have the reference number for the bomber :(

One last note. The idea of a leather backed denim jacket isn’t new. I purchased a leather denim jacket and pants from dolce & gabbana madison in the late 1990s.

Now that this design has come back around, I’m sure other brands will do their own renditions. Below the dolce, last worn in 2022. I mined the pants for denim to enlarge the jacket (thin rectangular panel down the sides, under the arms, by my talented third party tailor) so the pants are no more lol)

It’s the same line as the shorts. I think it’s 1350 USD. Hang on I’ll see if I have a pic of the tag somewhere

ETA: my apologies. I squeezed into a size 34 today just as a try on for the sweaters, but if I were to purchase, I’d buy a 38, not a 36, for a more relaxed fit and maximum length. I have purchased a 36 in the two pairs of shorts, and a 38 is comfy, slightly loose, in the carot pant from last season. I’m 5’2” which should give you a sense of the cropped aspect. Here is a recent pic, maybe ten days ago. . . I bought the men’s self belt pants (size 38) instead and had the legs taken in and shortened). So the last two pics are the men’s pants that I got instead.
🙏 now off to SA to hunt lol

Looks like a great shopping expedition!! Agree with others the rouge H skirt looks amazing on you. Especially styled with the Medor cardigan that you ended up getting. I wonder if the waxed material means it’s more durable? It could be easily dressed up and down….max cost per wear! ;)

Thanks! I think the waxed aspect would make it more durable. If there is a chance you will wear it enough to justify cost per wear,‘I would encourage it. It’s absolutely gorgeous, just not my lifestyle :)

ETA: a note on prices. In 2023-2024 collections, I purchased a cashmere moto jacket for 3K EU and a wool sports coat with belt detail closure for 2500EU. I believe @haute okole bought a fancier version of the jacket a year later for 5KUSD. This stretchy midriff zip cardigan is 3250 USD. IMO, the prices are quite high and really only justifiable if you love something and can really get a lot of wear. JMO :)

Really enjoyed viewing the Re- Editions collection and grateful for the invitation.
To celebrate a century of RTW, 18 selected designs from each designer through the years have been re- issued, including the very first piece, a men's Nappa jacket.
The prices are reasonable for Hermes and items have been selling out fast. I managed to find something I loved, which my dear SAs and accompanying friend agree, is very me. Each piece is limited but not numbered and carries a tag inside which denotes the year it was first shown.
I was also given a weighty book about this collection, after which I collected my long awaited bag and renewed my wish.
I will only post one general pic now because there are many here who are looking forward to attending this event as it makes it's way to FSH and then around the world.
Mild Spoiler Alert!
Thank you for sharing! Would you know the price of the white dress in your pic? :)

Since I bought my chèvre leather jacket from the sale, I don't have a garment cover. How should I store it at home?

Second question is how often and how should I care for a chèvre leather jacket?

@rumes, you could purchase an all cotton garment bag on line if you feel the need to cover it.
Suggest no plastic or any synthetic fabric, you want your leather to "breathe"
Would just wear your leather jacket & enjoy it. If you should get a stain on it, perhaps
a really reputable cleaner but no special care.
I have several H leather, suede coats & jackets & have never found the need to dry clean, JMO

I like a lot of H RTW, and tried some of this stuff on, but this season is particularly great for taller people (I’m short 5’2”
The shearlings can add bulk. Some pants and jackets can cut an shortie off at the ankle or hip :(

The one piece I purchased so far, the short synthetic cardigan, does go with a lot of RTW — here all Hermes — from prior seasons. It’s a basic with potential for great cost per wear. ETA: pants in pics 1-3 are men’s RTW that have been taken in a bit, size 38. The women’s RTW are usually size 36.
