The length is ok and indeed just borderline big. It’s because you have thinner hips/thighs. If you go size down it might not fit the “waist” area. This one on your pic, it just sits right on your waist and still able to tuck in a cotton? shirt. I would wear this with tops tucked in or a cropped top.
Thank you - I also have a gap at the top in the waist area; can prob fit my finger, which is also why I know it’s a little big. One size down is possibly perfect… but this size “works” too. That’s why I’m worried if it stretches with wear like most leather does I would be worried then that it will no longer be borderline big but just actually big. My SA didn’t think it would stretch since it’s not tight on me, but I suppose I shouldn’t have any hesitations at this price point either

My Hermes leather skirt hasn’t stretched. I agree with your SA; I don’t think it will stretch unless it’s too tight and your body presses against it. That isn’t the case here. But, I agree with @Love Of My Life to simply wait for the right size. You are hesitating for a reason, and Hermes does the leather mini every season.

Hello! Does anyone have this leather skirt?! It’s slightly big on me (don’t have size smaller in stock currently) and I’m wondering if it might stretch. Do we like it and the longer length? :yucky:

(I’m very petite so it sits much longer on me than the model)

I’m leaning towards passing since I’m not sure it’s in my budget right now (trying to be good after some unexpected purchases elsewhere gah!) so it’s hard for me to justify, but if it’s still available in Jan/Feb I might consider it. Trying to mull it over more and would love opinions!
I think the length is fine but I feel like it doesn’t look that great. It looks bulky in some areas and clearly it’s not you. I’d pass.

You should not have any hesitations about the fit, but have you explored other designers (better fit?)
for a leather skirt or is it that you have you heart set on an Hermes leather skirt?
I'm a fan of Hermes leather in jackets & coats, but since they usually are a significant purchase
& if the fit/style isn't great, I pass, because usually the next collection fills my needs & hopefully
something to look forward to & have learned that there will always be pieces that work in a wardrobe
that seem to be worth waiting for, JMO

Thank you! I would love to compare the size down for peace of mind, and I suppose not in a rush for a leather skirt so I’m ok with waiting for the right one

Thank you for your honest opinion :) I think the lump on the top back is from my long shirt possibly, or it’s just a little too big as well! I’ll pass!

I haven’t explored others, I had been eying that skirt online and figured since I saw it I would try it on. Are there others that may be more petite friendly you know of? Most RTW doesn’t fit me optimally here, and I don’t want to force it either!

Thank you all for your input :)

Try the tunics. They always look good on petite frames

I'd explore other items from Hermes including the suggestion from @addiCCted
I am not petite but Chanel, Dior, Loewe & even The Row may have some options for you
& agree that you should not force it either..
You might also want to explore the secondary market for Hermes as there are previous
collections that may work for you, again JMO

did @LKNN give her opinion? i think she has a few Hermes leather skirts or skorts, and she is petite like you (so I think her opinion might be more accurate as to your specific dilemma). My Dior leather mini skirt runs smaller in size, and I believe that they do a a leather mini regularly too, so I would definitely check it out

By the way, I like the longer length, but I’m 56 and I might be a bit more conservative lol :P

I am petite and these are the skirt lengths i go for too. This and midi skirts and even maxi as long as you know how to style it. Im Not a fan of mid thigh skirts.

I actually didn’t mind the length either (I don’t know if I am at a time in life for mini skirts anymore!) was just worried that one size down is my actual size, although my mini skirt wearing sister said no way . I’ll have to check out Dior - I’ve actually not set foot in there (yet haha!) it’s the one store I haven’t ventured into.

Where do you find a great midi/maxi skirt (or dress) - I would love to get one; that’s next to impossible especially so many have a design at the bottom you can’t really hem! I usually get midi dresses and wear them as maxi and call it a day haha

Alas I know I’m digressing sorry - if you prefer I message also happy to!

I suggest you pass. Hermès leather pieces are wardrobe staples... they are pieces you can throw on with almost anything to elevate an outfit. If the fit is off, you won't enjoy the piece to its full potential. Hermès has several leather pieces every season... perhaps something better will come along. I second @880's advice on looking into Dior leather, especially the 30 Montaigne skort with the cd buckle, which seems to fit everyone really well. HTH

I have this skirt in this color- I sized up because I don’t like things tight and I’m fairly tall and needed the length- it hasn't stretched out at all
I love this color and skirt on you! Would you say it fits similarly to as it does on me by sizing up? Like you can see a visible gap at the top of the waist when you sized up?

I’m tempted to see if they have this color available it’s great! Wear it well :)

Thanks for sharing
