[Love Of My Life]

Very random question, but my SA told me a cashmere coat that I had tried on that was not in my size just came in (along with the etoupe dress in my size!!). I love the coat but really don’t want to invest in a 9k coat right now and want to wait until it gets cooler. I understand that this particular coat might be gone by then but are coats and winter items available closer to actual fall time that I could purchase something later that I could actually use right away rather than store away in my rather limited closet space? Sorry if this is a very dumb question, but I’m very new to Hermes RTW and just luxury RTW in general and a bit confused about the timing.

I love H RTW especially their coats & leather pieces & with that being said,
In spite of the coat not being wearable at the moment, when the time comes to look for the
coat & with limited inventory in sizes of RTW in general at H, I'd take a pause, perhaps look at the
coat again & then decide.

The cashmere coat will be smth you can use many many seasons later. And what’s a few months. But it is expensive so you must love it. But I don’t think you should let the current weather affect your choice. When you are ready to buy the size and color may not be available. If you love the color, style and fit, if you think you will use the item. Then just purchase it. Fall is right around the corner.

Maybe in the old days people waited until the weather turned before even thinking about seasonal pieces, but if you want a particular model/size/colour, jump.

I wanted a pretty heavy dinner suit (Women's) recently. Only one store bought it in London, and they (NBS) only bought one-off jacket/trousers 'sets' in 3 sizes. That meant one chance for my size, and that chance was gone within the week it took me to 'sleep on it' still in a heatwave - I still kick myself.

I love H RTW especially their coats & leather pieces & with that being said,

Thank you all for your insight. You’re right and I shouldn’t let the fact that I can’t wear it right away influence my decision. I will go in and try it on (and hopefully the AC works this time) and see if I love it!

Fashun has generally always been totally out of sync, what is in the stores are never quite suitable for the season outside. Therefore one experiences buying the thickest coats and jackets for A/W in July during a heatwave, and bikinis in December. I would have to say buy it if you are sure, because by Autumn when temperatures start cooling down, the best things will no longer be available.

I will!! Maybe they can put the AC on full blast and that will help me visualize winter

Anyone has the Ava swimsuit can help me out? The website says the cups are removable, but I couldn’t find anything to remove….

I have an H swimsuit addiction. In my experience, when they have removable cups, there is a gap in the sewing in the areas I circled below. Then the ”cups” are included in a separate mini dust bag with the suit. Unfortunately Hermes website info is notoriously poorly done so it wouldn’t surprise me if it was a copy/paste from another item.

I tried on these two black jackets - the one on the left is a wool/cashmere blend knit in black/dk greyH reversible. The one on the right is the double face cashmere with leather buttons that I love and tried on before.

It was tough to choose - I have other DFCs but all with zippers so I like that this one has buttons. The zippered wool piece looks really nice with casual wear - a current wardrobe gap.

Also found this cute cashmere/silk top (same fabric/colourways as the oversize grandpa cardigan)

I love both jackets on you, and I think the zip one is particularly graceful and figure flattering.
I adore the one with buttons too, but I passed bc it didn’t suit my shape. LOVE your entire outfit underneath

Thank you! Those are the H shorts in stretch stuff cotton. I love them - this was after a full day of work - a few creases but still comfortable. I’m tempted to get them in black if my store has my size as I wear shorts to work in summer.

And yes, the proportions on the wool were much more flattering. If it had buttons I wouldn’t have hesitated over the dfc over that.

Love the zippered cardigan on you (seems like the right length). And that pale blue top is gorgeous, goes well with the shorts and bouncing sneakers (I have the same colourway), and you’ve inspired to consider this one

I love the left jacket on you. The higher cut is more flattering, and makes your legs look longer.

I do understand your dilemma about zipper vs buttons. All my jackets are buttons and I always tell myself to look out for zippered ones; but it never works .

Also, that grey/light blue top is beautiful.
