Oh no! Your boots have developed mold from improper storage. As others suggest, brush the visible mold off. Then to kill mold spores, wipe the boots down with a solution of half white vinegar and half water. Test first to see that this won’t remove colour. Let dry thoroughly, preferably in the sun, then do your regular polish routine. Wash the dust bags and throw out the box to prevent ongoing contamination. The boots should be taken out for a spin every once in a while to prevent mold from recurring. Good luck!
Thanks for the advice. I have taken it out of the box, but may need to have it professionally cleaned and treated.

Gorgeous boots! It's not anything to worry about. As another poster suggested, just wipe them down with vinegar and water and sit them in the sunshine. Leather horse tack gets moldy frequently when it isn't used often and is stored someplace dark or humid. However I also have a retired bridle hanging in my boot room at home (indoors, climate controlled, plenty of light) that also needs to be wiped down occasionally, especially in the summer when it is humid. The best thing you can do with your boots is wear them.

Just bumping and wondering if someone has the height of the jumping boots. I'm looking at a pair of Bardigiano boots online but can't find the height of the shaft anywhere. I assume they are like jumping boots in that size? Also does anyone have experience of leather foot and toile shaft Bardigiano's? Thanks!

hello. I have a question regarding the jumping boots, but I am not sure if this is the correct thread.

On the H website these boots are made from box leather. upon my research for more info I saw this video from around 2 years ago stating that the leather in the jumping boots is now more supple. can anyone who has recently purchased attest to this? -I would not like if they start to slouch over time. tia!

they are still very rigid/box leather-I just bought a pair from the boutique about 2 weeks ago.

Can everyone share what socks they wear with their boots?? I have a dilemma. I just bought a pair in 37.5 that fit fine with thin socks. Will need to exchange for 38 if I want to wear thicker socks… I’ve heard some people say thin socks are more comfortable for riding boots? *pulling my hair out because I can’t wear them right now 😫*

Congrats on your boots! You can get nice thin socks for tall boots at tack stores that sell English riding gear. Or if you don’t have one nearby try Dover Saddlery.

I wear mine generally with tights in winter. It seems to be fine.

I bought mine a year ago and they are box leather - they have not slouched at all but I do store them with boot shapers all the time, even if I am wearing daily. Hope this helps

Uniqlo online has a nice pair that are thin knee-high heat-tech. I swear by them and I buy them in bulk.
There are 2 version one just below the knee

And this one which is actually above the knee but I just fold the left over so it doesn't show.

Gosh I wish so much I could be a part of this thread. They don't make riding or jumping boots for my legs/body.
If I could fit in these boots I would wear them every day - they are so hot and so classy!
Is it due to the boots being tight at the calves? Have you tried the wider cut with lower shaft? H Jumpings come in two styles versions and a few leather types now. The suede ones are also softer and cut looser.

Thank you so much for the comment and suggestion @periogirl28 - I am rather "thick" with an athletic build. I can visually see that the boots would be tight not only in the calves but the whole leg! To complicate matters I have a high instep - which does not cause me any issues - but because of the slope of my foot, I cannot put the boot on as it approaches the slope of the boot! I will continue to live vicariously thru you all.
